I loved this! It's fascinating to learn of how our ancestors lived so many thousands of years ago. I thought the museum was excellent and the organisers seemed to get a huge amount of exhibits into such a small space. As for the neolithic site - it was quite an experience. I'm old, visually impaired and had a broken toe... More

Serene and well presented, this is a pearler of a place! You can even walk into, the chamber of a 6000 year old structure..... which has a 12th century church atop the mound!! And of course, the Germans were here too during WWII; a sobering display featuring the forced workers is open in the old command bunkers... More

I visited with my husband and 5 year old. He really loved the tunnel into the tomb and climbing to the chapel at the top. It was quite interesting and in a pretty location. We spent about 40 minutes there and didn't have any kind of guided tour. As we had a Jersey pass it was worth popping into, but... More

Would have liked a shorter guided tour. It was very informative but too long. More

This is a great place to have a day out. Obviously very historic, intellectual and interesting. Also good for kids as plenty to do and see. But when it comes to eating be careful, there are hundreds of wasps which make it very difficult to eat out or in. We had to move in the end as the wasps were... More

We were looking forward to visiting La Hougue Bie and were not disappointed. The Explorer Bus stops right in front of the facility, so it is very easy to reach from St. Helier. For an historical sight which includes an ancient burial mound, medieval chapel, small museum, mock settlement and German WWII bunkers, it is very compact. The neolithic tomb,... More

We went as it was one of the attractions of the Jersey pass scheme. If you want to know about the history of Jersey this attraction has it all - start with Neolithic man and finish with the Nazi invasion. Probably not enough to keep young children amused but older children will enjoy the history. Cannot recommend this highly enough.... More

Bus stop next to Le Hogue Bie. Family ticket entrance fee. Geology musem area interesting to all. Historic large apple crusher in courtyard curiosity. The neolithic tomb compares favorably with New Grange in Ireland and Mayes Howe in the Orkney's (Scotland). The German command and control bunker is impressive and provides a moving tribute to the enslaved workers who dug... More

I would say this museum, prehistoric mound and chapel tour would be more suited for the adults but i would say that some youngsters would take an interest in this if they like this sort of thing. It started off all gathering outside the monument with a member of staff giving a talk which was interesting, followed by a few... More
