I went with 2 French visitors. The visit has been improved with many inter-active exhibits. You get a great grasp of the history of the area with a short informative movie to start. Then follows the visit of the castle with actors playing different roles which brings the history to life. On our tour there were several families with young... More

we arrived past the previous tour hour and were interested in the centre. When asked if we visit the graveyard on our own told no, not without a paid admission/tour. They own the graveyard ? No thanks, we walked the toun and visited the island. No tour of the castle for us.

We had a fab morning here as part of the summer of heritage. I literally woke up and looked on line - saw it was on and rang and booked and we were there in 20 minutes (my kids never get washed or fed!!). The staff were great - the tour was brilliant for kids - my 8 year old... More

We unexpectedly arrived to Dalkey this afternoon not knowing what to do. We headed to Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre. We only had to wait five minutes for our tour to start. We first had a 12-minute introduction video to this history of Dalkey and then the costumed tour began. We were brought out to the graveyard where we met... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to submit such a positive review for us. As a very small visitor attraction it is invaluable when we get such reviews. We are delighted that you and the family found it so entertaining. More

I am a local of Dalkey and learnt lots of interesting gems about the village that I never knew. I am going to spread the word about this great attraction which is interesting... More

An inexpensive and interesting tour. A short movie explained the different features in the castle. We did the grounds and the castle. The guides were very good. We carefully climbed the narrow crooked, on purpose, steps to the roof. Common foods, medical procedures, and indoor toilet were explained and shown to us. Old tombstones and crosses were in the small graveyard.... More

Really enjoyed our tour of the castle and graveyard. We are not typically 'tour' or even 'castle people' meaning it is not in our top two things to do in Ireland. However, the tour was both interesting and entertaining - with actors taking turns interacting with you. Sometimes that kind of thing can be over the top, but for me... More

We had a wonderful experience when visiting dalkey castle. Lady Catherine (staff member) was extremely helpful and the 3 members dressed and acting in the age of castle life were great fun. Highly recommend for all ages and it was really good value
