This castle is really small, but the staff is playing roles of some characters who would live in the castle and educate you about the history of this interesting place in a very funny way. I would recommend it to everyone.

The tour around the castle was educational and the staff made it interesting. They do a good job imparting information about past times in the castle. There is a short video before the tour begins and it was very well executed. If I had one suggestion I would incorporate the graveyard into the tour as there really wasn't enough time... More

We had taken a day trip to Dalkey (which is 25 minutes by the DART train) from Pearse street station. Dalkey is a quaint little town, people are friendly and while walking down the streets we came up on the small structure which is Dalkey castle. The tour guides were well trained, it was done in phases with different staff... More

To start your tour, you watch a short video giving the history of the castle and region, which is very informative. After that, you will be entertained by the different actors who portray characters who would have lived in... More

I live quite locally but I have never visited Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre. This weekend a friend came to visit from Sweden and I thought we could pop in. It is very reasonably priced. There is a short video of the history of Dalkey and how it came to prominence as a depot for goods from large ships that... More

This place is just plain fun! In the past, I balked at going here, but this time, we went for it....WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE! The folks in the lobby were quite entertaining while we waited for the next tour time. The Heritage Centre covers Irish history very well and is very interactive. The castle has such a great program and... More
