Both of my parents left Ireland in the early 1900s. Both parents came from Clare, met in the States, and passed onto us their memories and heartfelt stories of childhood in Ireland. My brothers and I made visits to Ireland over the years and tried to verify what we knew about our parents and grandparents. And as years went on,... More

My great grandparents left Ireland 150 years ago and we have had no knowledge or contact with anyone since. All we had was a death certificate and the knowledge that they came from County Clare. Antoinette did an amazing job of detective work, trawling through hundreds of documents to find out the information and, despite many seemingly dead ends, not... More

The Clare Heritage Centre has now provided two searches for me; one for my grandfather a few years ago, and more recently one for my grandmother. Both were most comprehensive and enlightening. Seeing actual documents and signatures is really exciting! I like the narrative comments that you provide in the reports, which makes them feel much more personalized. Thank you... More

I decided to begin to research my Irish ancestors in earnest after a lovely lady at the National Library in Dublin suggested that "my dear, you need to do a lot more investigating on your side of the pond before I can help you!" on our first trip to Ireland. I took her advice and when I had done all... More

After visiting Ireland for the first time in 2010 I decided to try to trace our Irish ancestry. I knew our ancestors came from Co. Clare so upon my return to Australia I spent countless hours researching our Irish family history with very little success. It was suggested that I contact the Clare Heritage Centre so on our 2nd visit... More

We visited Clare Heritage Centre with mixed feelings. Were we in the right county? We had a limited time frame. We had been in contact with Antoinette through the website. Immediately we felt at ease. If you can, it is better to book an interview time slot. These lovely ladies were going to be able to discover unknown facts of... More

My sister and I had started to do a little work in tracing our ancestors from the little we remembered about my father's family and from our own distant memories of visiting County Clare. This was not so easy as it was about 55 years since the last visit! Antoinette and her staff were able to find data we would... More

I recently went to Ireland to visit Co.Clare, the birthplace of my great grandfather. I only knew the county and his parents' names. I was thrilled to find the Clare Heritage Centre by chance when driving through Corofin. Within days I had a parish name and baptismal information. It was such a joy to walk in my ancestors' footsteps and... More

I used Clare Heritage Centre for some research recently. Whilst it took over 12 months to get my research, it was well worth the wait. Antoinette provided a very comprehensive report including copies of census and other records. I am very appreciative for this detailed work. As with most things in genealogy, patience is the key! I would thoroughly recommend... More

My wife and I did our homework on her Irish ancestors, but had reached a roadblock. Antoinette and her staff are experienced genealogists (!) with a lot of data at their fingertips that is not readily available. More importantly they are very skilled at putting the tidbits together to reach a cohesive conclusion. Since we provided intial data, they used... More
