I would never have discovered my ancestors without the Clare Heritage and Genealogy Centre. My extended family and I are quite pleased with the results - a very detailed report on ancestors and cousins going back about 200 years. And we now know the exact location of the farm and townland where my great-grandfather was born and grew up. And... More

I knew there was Irish heritage in my family and had done research many years ago. Before we left Australia I quickly flicked through my notes. Corofin was mentioned. I went into the Clare Heritage centre on the off chance of finding information. Antioneete I think was a bit skeptical about finding anything as my info was quite vague. We... More

I highly recommend the Clare Heritage Centre for information and tracking of one's Irish forebears. My grandfather was born in County Clare near Ennistymon, and had emigrated to Australia as a single man in the late 19th century. Whilst on a trip to Ireland over five years ago, I was hoping to find the exact location of the family farm.... More

Do not visit this centre unless you want to spend a lot of money. The researcher was disinterested and almost rude in her dismissal of my request for help. Without any checks at all she claimed that there was not, nor never had been incidence of my surname in the area. A fact which took about 30 minutes to disprove... More

I met with researcher, Antoinette O'Bryen, who clearly set my expectations for the complexity of the report. The Clare Heritage Centre used many original sources such as census data, death records and parish records to provide a detailed account of my ancestors. I was able to learn about the struggles my ancestors had to endure as a result of the... More

We visited the Clare Heritage Center not really knowing what to do or what to expect. Unfortunately, we didn't visit until the last Friday of our 3 week vacation. So when Ms O'Bryen said she would have some information on our family by the following Monday, I was a bit skeptical. To our great surprise, on Monday she had information... More

My wife and I recently visited the Clare Heritage Centre in search of more specific details about my great great grandfather Daniel Healy and his family of origin. My family, mainly my brother and several cousins, had been searching for more than 20 years, had gathered considerable detailed information but had not been able to progress to locating the actual... Prior to our (first) trip to County Clare, I tried to research my mom's farm, but had poor luck. My wife saw the Clare Heritage Centre on her (paper!) map (it's well marked on google also) of Ireland. I told her I had seen their website, didn't have luck finding data, but agreed we should go to Corofin and check... More

Knew both my Grandparents were from Clare, had lots of information of their offspring, etc., but little family knowledge before their 1909 arrival in America. During our Ireland visit, the first stop in Clare was at the Center. We were fortunate to catch Antoinette late one afternoon and by the next day she had discovered enough preliminary family information to... More
