Zoo has updated some of animal enclosures. It also does research on the red panda. Nice layout with trees for shade in summer. If you have the time to go east of downtown, you will enjoy this place.

Access to animal areas are not as viewer friendly as they should be - as compared to other zoos. Located in a. Bad part of town and please avoid Boo at the Zoo..way too crowded and no animals are out at the time.

We came here on a side trip from the Gatlinburg area. The kids all enjoyed themselves seeing the animals, though some were hard to see. The have one giraffe that is a different coloring than the others and I thought it was absolutely beautiful. We have a zoo membership to a small zoo in Indiana and that zoo pass got... More

I have been pleasantly surprised how much fun we have using a yearly pass for an hour walk or several hours depending. Very clean and well cared for.

This place needs so very much. It is in a sad state of disrepair. Poor side walks, poor exhibits. It just needs work to make this a nice place. This Zoo needs to go around to some of the larger cities and take a look at their zoos to see what needs to be improved on! I have been to... More

Our zoo is a wonderful excursion for children of all ages. It has a wide variety of animals who are well cared for in large, pleasant enclosures. In addition, it is a breeding zoo which makes it more interesting.

The zoo has evolved so much over the past ten years. I have a ten and a nine year old, and they continue to love it, year after year. The zoo has added new attractions, and upgraded older ones (the new Lion complex for example). Cannot beat spending the day with your kids here, plenty to do, see, eat...you name... More

Absolutely love the Knoxville Zoo, but I must say that I was disappointed at how hard it is to get good pictures of most of the animals. It is also hard to enjoy them through the cages. Wish they would do some updating so that you can see them better. After visiting the Tulsa Zoo.. I realized the difference that... More

You wouldn't think 3 grown women would have such a good time at the zoo but we did! The grounds are well kept and the animals appear well-taken care of. It was a hot day and many of animals were "snoozing" so there wasn't a lot of activity. The zoo is undergoing a lot of renovation. We didn't feel it... More
