We love this theatre and sign up for our season tickets regularly! The shining light for every year is obviously A Christmas Carol and it is stunning. Our favorite show this year was 39 Steps with a questionable nod to Mr. Burns. We love this theatre because you have so many different choices on what to see and when to... More

The theater is small which made the unique presentation of A Christmas Carol wonderful. If only the theater itself were as great. One bathroom for a very long line at the ladies room. The fact that the theater was very cold didn't help. Half the crowd had resorted to wearing coats. I voiced that concern to a theater employee and... More

Wen went to see a production of "A Christmas Carol" over Thanksgiving weekend, and the experience was as good as any show we've seen on or off Broadway. Highly recommend you take a look at the calendar and take in a show here if possible. Wonderful venue, very comfortable seating with great sight lines.

'Mr. Burns' sold out quickly. My husband and I wait listed on the off chance we could get in. We were the last two seated! Great great show. The Lab Theatre is an intimate venue. Delightful evening.

I have had a season subscription for years. The theater, the sets, the acting, the costumes, the music and the appreciation of the audience is excellent at the CBT. If you have wanted to attend a performance but have never made the effort, you have been missing out! Fortunately for you, this can be easily fixed. Go!

On the University of Tennessee campus, the Clarance Brown Theatre - actually more than one venue - is a great place to take in a play. The theater seating is comfortable. The current play - 39 Steps is an excellent production. It is a farce of the Hitchcock movie by the same name. There are only four actors and they... More

I went to see the play "The 39 Stairs" last week. The theater is a wonderful size and there are no bad seats in the house. It had been a long time since I had been there, and I couldn't remember much about it. But going in, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that all of the seats were... More

the Clarence Brown Theatre production of The 39 steps was simply wonderfully entertaining and funny. The actors were great and the creative staging was fantastic. All CBT productions are great, but this one just so enjoyable.

The show and actors were GREAT. The theater was great. The staff, parking, etc. were also great. I HIGHLY recommend the Clarence Brown Theater and "The 39 Steps" production. Saw the show with my family (including teenagers) and everyone was very entertained! Visiting Knoxville from Melbourne FL.

We have attended four productions at this University of Tennessee theater facility and have enjoyed the professional performances and the physical facility. Yesterday's performance of The 39 Steps kept us laughing for 100 minutes of delightful comedy. Being a frequent audience member of Broadway Productions in New York, we are impressed not only with the quality of the experience, but... More
