I really enjoy going up on the Sunsphere, if gives you great views of Knoxville and there is a great bar restaurant at the very top, it's a must try. When you're in Knoxville, make time to go up to the top of the Sunsphere, it's worth it.

Fun to read about the history of the World's Fair whle enjoying the vews of Knoxville. Easy walk from Market Square on a suspended walkway over the traffic to the elevator up to the top. We are still wondering how they keep those angled windows so clean!

I am so glad they opened it back up to the public. It doesn't cost anything to go up to the observation deck. The views phenomenal. The exhibit portion was awesome. They talk about the history of Knoxville. It was awesome to see old pictures from the 1982 World's Fair. It brought back such great memories. It's worth stopping in.... More

We usually take out-of-town visitors to the Sunsphere- it's such an iconic stop, and you get a 360-degree view of downtown Knoxville. Generally, getting off the elevator and stepping onto the observation deck can make for some wobbly knees, especially since the glass walls angle toward your feet, but it's worth the trip if you can handle it. There's lots... More

The sunsphere is a great way to get an ariel view of Knoxville. It is free to take the elevator to the 4th floor. Then you are able to walk all the away around the sphere to get a 360 view. There is a restaurant in the sphere, but we were told it was very pricey and did not try.... More

It has been quite a while since the World's Fair was held in Knoxville TN but the Sun Sphere is an every day reminder of the gem this city is! I had been invited for a professional presentation that was hosted in the Sun Sphere on the "3rd" floor and was very surprised when the doors opened. There are meeting... More

This is something to see if your in the area. Truly enjoyed the view and later I took a stroll down by the amphitheatre-where I sat and read a book with my feet dangling in the water. I was there just in time to see the baby ducks.

Took my mom out for a day in Knoxville for Mother's Day and had to stop at the Sunsphere. The World's Fair Park is beautiful, clean and safe. Yes, the eleveator for the Sunsphere is creepy. I was a nervous wreck in this elevator (and I have been up the Willis Tower in Chicago). Anyway, once you step out onto... More

There's a few small display plaques, but there's not much to do once you get to the observation deck. You can walk around to see the 360 degree view.

Well tended area with fountains and walks beside water. Park also good for shade if visiting on a hot day or somewhere to relax and lie down on the lawn. Went up the tower and was surprised by the 360 degree views over Knoxville. Lots of information pointing out the points of interest and good views of the Smoky Mountains... More
