Love that they reopened this after so many years. A fun place to take friends and family visiting the area.

This is a nice view of the downtown area of Knoxville, and as you circle the sphere you can read interesting facts about the city and it's history. There is a also a cocktail lounge above the viewing level where you can take in the view with a drink and a light snack.

I was expecting to pay an admission fee to take the elevator to the observation deck of this tower. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the attraction is free. The tower offers a great view of the city and has some informational boards about Knoxville as well. Definitely worth going to the top is you happen to be walking... More

While in Knoxville,TN I entered the Sunsphere Tower. It was my last day in Tennessee and my visit took place during the day. So the only floor we could go to was the observation area. Inside are murals on the wall and information regarding the construction of the structure and how it was part of the last successful World Fair... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in downtown to see the Sunsphere. On this Fall day leaves were changing, sun was out fully and temperatures a perfect cool blend. The Sunsphere is set in a park like venue that was built for a 1982 World Fair. How nice with the waterfalls and great walkways. We are so glad we... More

I remember I was slightly disappointed when I visited the Sunsphere when I was 12 at the 1982 World's Fair... this time it was free and even more of a disappointment. Nothing but dirty windows and a few old signs on the edge of a creepy abandoned park area. I hope Knoxville uses this for some great events because the... More

This is a cool little spot. Has a 360 degree view of Knoxville and the surrounding area. Lots of information around the walls detailing the 1982 Worlds Fair, which is what this was built for. Very unique attraction. Best of all - it's free!
