My family goes to this park regularly. I enjoy walking around Duck Island and seeing the squirrels, birds and just the beauty of the surroundings. We don't camp because we live relatively close. Our grandchildren love to visit the playground. We, also, owned a boat and would fish or go let the family swim. They also have a fairly nice... More

If you are particularly sick of the Mountains and a little beach-sick, I'd suggest going here to the farthest tip of land accessible. There is a lovely beach-like area with sand, shells, crab claws, water waves, large birds, and boats. It is to the far left of the big "NO SWIMMING" sign. A transcendent experience!

Spent many hours wandering around the lake and cooking out at one of the shelters. Campsites are well kept as well.

Second time we camped here. We were mighty surprised when we arrived on a Thursday thinking hardly anyone would be here. Were we wrong. The campground was packed. Beautiful weather, fall colors. It took us 3 times riding around the campground to find a good spot for a tent. Mostly the sites are for the many RVs. After much searching,... More

This is a great park that offers a lot. Duck Island offers a delightful loop for walking, biking for children, and picnicking. We canoe at Warriors' Path. Darrell's Dream playground area is really nice. Our church has held summer worship services at the amphitheater before a meal at one of the large picnic shelters. We've gone horseback riding, hiked, and... More
