We took our grandchildren (ages 4 & 1) to the museum on a Thursday morning. They had a great time. There were many things for the 4 year old to do: explore, touch, examine, and learn. The 1 year old thoroughly enjoying pushing the shopping cart around in the grocery store. The stage and costumes were a big hit. They... More

Fun, many things that interested the kids. I had two of my kids with me -,daughter (age 9) and son (age 4), and they had a good time. Could have had a little more to see and do, though, considering we drove 2 hours from Knoxville to check it out...

At "Hands On," the educational value almost matches the fun quotient. We spent two hours there, but our six-year-old granddaughter could have stayed till closing. She sat through a short weather demonstration, dressed up as a ballerina and danced, climbed into the cockpit of an airplane, made arts and crafts, served as a bank teller, worked as a grocery store... enjoyed visits there with young grandchildren..used by school groups..took children up to 12 there and they enjoyed it..younger children really enjoy the "hands on"..they change their special "shows" so there is variety...children also enjoyed finding the same items available each visit.

This place is marvelous for entertaining grand children for 2 - 4 hrs. Just a quick visit to each exhibit and you have used up over an hour !

We just had my daughters birthday there. They said just bring your gifts and relax. We paid for 15 kids and of course parents/family. It was a 1/4 of sheet of cake. Some guests didnt even get cake. The lady that assisted was so slow, I had to step in so that we could serve everyone before our 45 minutes... More

Admittedly, I haven't been in a couple years, but at that time, it was DEFINITELY geared toward preschoolers. If that's what you are looking for, this is the place. I would think older children might be bored.

I think that adults should get in free with child's admission. There's not really that much for adults to do. Some of the exhibits are really outdated as well. My nephews liked it though.
