The family had a blast here! If you have children between the ages of 2 and 15, they will love this place. Great museum mixes fun and learning perfectly- tons of hands-on activities like giant bubble blowing, playing at running a bank, grocery store, learn about safety and mechanics while "driving" a real car, all kinds of science experiment activities,... Hands On really needs some updates. Some of the things there have been there since it first opened. If you have been there two or three times it becomes boring. They do bring in new things but the things that are there all the time are tired.

I found this museum about ten years ago when we first moved to the area. I get the family membership because it offer discounts to museums all across the US. My kid and love going here.

Not as entertaining as it looks and not as big as it looks. The kids enjoyed it for about 2 hours then became bored. My first time here and I was disappointed from the lack of it being called a hands on museum. All I got out of it was it's a big inside playground with toys.

This is always been such a fun place to take my kids when they were younger and then to take my nieces and nephews when they came along. My mom bought the grandparents pass which works well for her when she has the grandchildren. They do have an exhibit that rotates out but my kids always enjoyed the good old... More

Hands on Museum is without a doubt the best option for you to take your family to in Johnson City. They are always changing so you can return.

Such a fun and cute little hands on museum located right downtown. My two-year-old and I had a wonderful time, we played for a couple of hours. Lots of different activities on two floors. Definitely recommend this place. We drove from Asheville. Five stars!

This is a great little museum to take younger kids to and is very reasonably priced. Teenage children would probably be bored after a little bit, but our three, five, and seven year old children loved it.

I use to work here and truly love this museum. However, it seems to be lagging behind other children's museums by far. I took my toddler to visit and was actually disappointed that I spent money on tickets. There aren't any new attractions and the classics that were so loved are gone. The crawl under fish tank for example is... More
