The playground by the water is terrific for children of all ages. Plenty of equipment to keep children engaged. Picnic tables and shade trees close to playground. As well as ample parking very close. Acres of grassy hills for children to safely run, play and explore.

The amenities at this park are very nice for a jogger. They have several trails that allow you to select difficulty and distance. They also have both paved and unpacked paths. The only drawback is that the paved paths need to be treated a bit more often, as fungus can grow on the path and make it slick in areas.... More

A nice park but if it is baseball or softball season good luck finding a parking spot. Nothing against either of those sports, it is just that the park is at capacity at certain times and if it is to be enjoyed then it is wise to plan accordingly as to your interest.

With the lake being down for at least 2 more years, this park is a bit drab. The playground was used so much in the past that it's showing a lot of wear. Plus, there isn't much to do at the playground. Winged Deer does have one of the toughest frisbie golf courses in the area. I haven't been to... More

This area wanted a park like Winged Deer way back in the early 80s. I doubt most people realize there was an early attempt at creating this park up on Market Street. It was where the Boys Club/Food City/Animal Shelter/Krystal are located at now. Back then there was multiple baseball/softball fields, batting cages and a few small walking trails. Problem... More

This is a beautiful park with plenty to do for the whole family. From exploring the lake, to playing on the playground or having a picnic, it's a great place to go on a nice day. We ended up spending a couple hours here.

Winged Deer State Park is a huge, beautiful area set up with soccer fields, softball fields, batting cages, an 18-hole disc-golf-course, and great expanses of greenery to enjoy, walking or running or just sitting on the plateful benches to watch the ducks and geese on the water! There is a lakefront area with sand volleyball and boating access to the... More
