I grew up going to Pickett, and it has never let me down. From playing football and hide and seek in Hazard Cave, to hiking on the ladder trail, to exploring the natural arches, to hiking the Hidden Passage Trail (which has a waterfall that really isn't that hard to find) to taking a dip in the lake in February... more

Two families of 4 we meet each year in August to camp together. This year, 2008, we tent camped at PSP from 12-15 Aug. PSP is located north of Jamestown in upper middle Tennessee bordering Big South Fork. Regardless if you camp, stay in a cabin, or hit the backcountry you will be quickly overwhelmed by its vast wilderness of lush vegetation, waterfalls, caves, and natural bridges. My husband and I selected Pickett State Park for a weekend of tent-camping, in spite of never having been there before.
