I LOVE Nashville, there are so many great parks in and around town. Long Hunter State Park sits right on the edge of Nashville, just minutes from the airport. There is a boat ramp, playgrounds, bathrooms, and superb walking/hiking trails. They also rent canoes during the Summer months. There also seems to always be a ranger within sight, at least... More

Had a nice relaxing time at this park. Nice accommodations with plenty of picnic spots, wide open spaces, lovely lake and nice fishing dock. There is a lot of ground to cover at this park. There is a hiking trail around the lake and a bridge to get to the other side. A very nice shelter house as well as... More

We enjoyed a quiet visit on a beautiful sunny day. Very few people were there, which was surprising. It proved a lovely get-away time for us.

We camped out here with our family and the staff was friendly and informative. The grounds were perfect for camping and running and playing around (for the kids). We fish, hiked and did some community service (trash pick-up). Great fishing area!

Long Hunter is one of my favorite places to go walking and hiking. They have a great 2 mile paved trail around Couchville Lake through the beautiful woods, as well as many dirt trails. You will usually always see a lot of wildlife, such as deer, turkeys, butterflies, squirrels and box turtles. There is a lot of fishing spots, picnic... More

Long Hunter State Park is one of my favorite places to hike. It is close to Nashville and when I have visitors come, I always offer to take them to Long Hunter to get out of the city, get some fresh air, and enjoy a great hike. I enjoy the Day Loop Trail and the Volunteer Trail. The trailhead is... More

Long Hunter is about a 20-25 minute drive from my house so I go there occasionally, mainly just to get away from the hustle/bustle and concrete. There are boat ramps, picnic areas, and a playground for kids. I really like the flat paved walking trail around the lake's edge that meanders through the woods. It takes you to a walking... More

We took our dog walking though the park. The water is very nice. Lots of places to picnic. We saw two deer. It was nice.

The park is huge, and has quite a bit to do within it. We went on a pretty nice day (as people are apt to do on nice days) and it was extremely busy. That made it hard to truly enjoy the scenery, but it was still a nice place. I'd like to come back in the fall and do... More
