I love the self-guided tours, you don't have to keep up with the rest of the group and can go at your own pace. It also is great if you are traveling with small children. The inside guided tour of the house only takes about 20 minutes. more

A wonderfully educational and fun experience! Beautiful gardens and tree-lined pathways. The historians were extremely knowledgeable and enthusiatic. It is well worth the drive out of Nashville to see The Hermitage. Give yourself plenty of time to tour the house and explore the grounds. My husband and I just returned from a wonderful visit to the Heritage. The grounds are beautiful and wide open. There are audio guides which are marvelous and there was no extra charge.
