The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more. « less

If you get the chance to hear live music at the Franklin Theatre or a play/musical please do so. It's beautiful, the sounds is wonderful and it's a great thing to do after dinner downtown.

Don't know what took us so long to get there, but we know the way now! What a wonderful theatre. Not only are the seats comfortable, but there isn't a bad seat in the house. Great place.

Saw Mac McAnally last night at the Franklin Theatre. It was awesome. The theatre is a great venue for concerts. We had a cabaret table. It is a very intimate atmosphere. Have seen many other concerts, plays and movies. If you have the opportunity, you should check it out!

The Franklin Theatre is located in quaint downtown Franklin. It was fully renovated a few years back in an art deco style. We have been there many times for movies and concerts. The movie tickets are $5, which you can't beat. They show a combination of new and old movies. We love that you get to pick your seats and... More

This is an interesting old theater (former movie theater) that is about 80 years old. The room is rather narrow and the acoustics are not the best, but still a fun place for a concert. There is a bar in the front lobby. The theater is in the heart of historic downtown Franklin & we enjoyed walking around town before... More

Thanks so much for sharing your positive review. You mentioned some issues about the acoustics of our auditorium, which concerns us....since we're almost always applauded for having created one of the most satisfying listening rooms for music and live events anywhere. We would welcome more information on the event you attended so we can address as needed. With much appreciation... More

The old Franklin Theatre "renewed" is a wonderful venue for the performing arts. It has been home to "Studio Tenn" since its founding just four years ago. Anyone who enjoys theatre will be amazed by any production done by Studio Tenn. Last year are I attended "Twelve Angry Men", "Smokey Joe's Cafe" and "My Fair Lady". Each show was fabulous!... More

We are faithful fans of the band Asleep At The Wheel, if you ever have a chance, go see them. A four hour drive to see them is nothing, and so we ended up at the Franklin Theater. I have seen them in venues as large as 800, but at 285, this was the smallest place so far. A beautiful... More
