The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more. « less

We in Franklin are blessed to have a venue like this. Now much more than a movie theatre it has become a place where headline performers come to enjoy themselves. This theater had never looked so good in the best of times. It has had more than a restoration or facelift it has been repurposed into a venue that is... More

What's not to love at the Franklin Theater? Take one building - old, ready for demolition, an "eye-sore" on main street. Add in equal parts visionary leadership, community involvement, creative fund-raising and, cleaver marketing - and what do you get? A refurbished, restored gem that becomes the heart and soul of the community. The theater now has the capacity to... More

So thrilled this theater was restored. It has so much character and then add real food to see a cheap flick...it's a great night out!

I'm a big movie buff so I really wanted to see inside this historic theatre. Thankfully "How to Train Your Dragon 2" was showing so I got a chance to see a good movie as well as the building. The restoration done on the Franklin Theatre is fantastic. Everything from the marquee, ticket booth, lobby, and washrooms is finished in... More

This restored theatre is a great place to see a movie or a concert. Very comfortable seating. Soft drinks, beer and mixed drinks are available. Children movies are shown on Saturdays during the day.

My Wife and I attended a concert at the historic Franklin Theatre in Downtown Franklin, Tennessee. We say Lee Roy Parnell with special guest Etta Britt. This review is for the theatre. I could talk about the concert all night. The theatre was like stepping back in time. having been completely renovated a few years ago, I must assume it... More

Thanks for the kind words and we loved Lee Roy Parnell's show, too! We're also happy to say that everything in the theater is new....including seats, décor, from roof to concrete. And especially the sound and light package that make seeing a live concert so special. Hope to see you again soon! More

This theatre is definitely a very worthwhile visit while you are in Franklin. This review details my 10 year old's experience. The movies: some movies will simply cost $5 a ticket. This is a fantastic deal for a family. My husband and son got to see The Monty Python Quote-a-long. Both are life-long Monty Python fans. My son is only... More

Great place to catch a concert. Love the old theatre and will be on the lookout for concerts here. Sheryl Crow and Darius Rucker put on a great show for a great cause, New Hope Academy.

We were in town and stumbled across a Sheryl Crow concert. We were going to see a movie in this tiny beautifully restored place, but it is amazing for concerts because there is no bad seat in the house.

We have visited the Franklin Theatre twice over two years. Both times we saw Beausoleil, a favorite of ours. While the show never disappoints, I have to comment on the theatre. It is beautifully redone and the people who work and volunteer there are about the friendliest that we have ever met and we travel a lot. We drove from... More
