Owner description: The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more.

We love this place. It's our home town and would change location for anything. We love Downtown Franklin. The Theater was renovated recently and is a great place to catch a movie or a smaller concert. You just never know who may show up on any given day. After all we are in the middle of Counrty Music headquarters.

I used to go to the Rocky Horror midnight movie at the old theater and then it closed down with the promise of renovation. Not sure how close it came to being destroyed but funds were raised and renovation took place. It is now a landmark location and a gem among the unique shops and quaintness that surrounds it. No... This is an all-purpose historic theater that offers an array of top notch live entertainment, movies and you name it. Surrounded by great shopping and excellent restaurants you can check their website for upcoming acts. Small venue feel. Franklin is now home to Americana Music Association...so I would imagine artists from the Americana genre will be in the forefront, although... More

This theater was great before they did the renovation and is even better now. I have attended many plays and musical performances here and it is the perfect atmosphere....very cozy and intimate. They are licensed to serve alcohol as well. So wonderful not to have to go downtown Nashville to hear or see a great performance.

The Franklin Theater is a breath of fresh air! If you're visiting Franklin, check to see which performers are coming here first. You'll be in for a surprise. This place hosts some of musics biggest stars in an intimate setting. I've seen Sheryl Crow, Bret Michaels, Pam Tillis and Leon Russell here. It feels like they are performing a private... More

The renovation of this theater is stunning. I love going to events here. I love downtown Franklin...so dinner at one of the great restaurants with a concert at Franklin Theater is pretty much the perfect date night.

The Franklin Theater is a historic theater in downtown Franklin. It was recently refurbished and plays a variety of movies from independent film-makers, documentaries to old classics as well as recent box office movies. I believe they also have live-performances. You can order a glass of wine with your popcorn, and they have some table seating towards the front of... More

It's great that the Franklin Theatre was resurrected. It also gives folks a chance to see movies and entertainment. We saw ET not long ago. I took my son when it first came out, and then we took his 12 year old granddaughter when she came for a visit. Where else can you go see the classics like ET, Jaws,... More

We in Franklin are blessed to have a venue like this. Now much more than a movie theatre it has become a place where headline performers come to enjoy themselves. This theater had never looked so good in the best of times. It has had more than a restoration or facelift it has been repurposed into a venue that is... More
