Description: The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first...
The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more.

This is a wonderful little theater. I would guess that it seats 300-350 so that keeps concerts and movies intimate affairs. We've attended two movies here with family or friends and loved it.

Thanks for bringing family and friends to see movies at the Franklin Theatre and we're delighted you've had a wonderful experience. You're correct, we seat approximately 300 and it's a wonderful place to hear live music concerts in addition to the movies we screen. Your review means the world to us and we hope you'll get to visit again soon! More

We recently attended a James Gregory comedy show at the newly renovated Franklin Theater. We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it looks inside now. The lobby might be a bit small but the theater itself is gorgeous! The seating is great with lots of leg room and space to get up if you need to use the facilities. We... More

Step back into the fifties when you enter this wonderful old movie house. Restored by the Franlkin Heritage Association and operated as a non-profit it offers select movies and live shows. Buy tickets online as most shows are sold out.

We have been to numerous midnight movies and music events in this cool old theatre. The old place was completely restored and is perfectly maintained. It has good acoustics for live music and never fails to provide a good time.

One I first moved to town, I remember how they were raising funds to renovate the Theatre. I am so glad they did. I have been here to see a movie, watched the Super Bowl here and now have seen a performance. It is fantastic for all three! But, this is one of the best venues for an intimate performance.

Great place to see a play. This is a re-vamped old theater that shows live plays and the occasional movie. Decorated nicely and they serve beer and wine as well as soft drinks and popcorn

I attended a show this past weekend at the Franklin Theatre for the first time. I hope to make a return trip someday. The staff I talked with before the show were friendly and helpful. The venue is small, which makes it a great spot to see live music and meet locals. I don't think there's a bad seat in... More

Imagine being treated to the pleasure of a great performance or movie, conveniently ordering your tickets online, being able to select your actual seats, and not sitting through 40 minutes of previews for movies you have no desire to watch? Note: movie show time is the actual show time, so plan accordingly. We've enjoyed several show/performances here, but saw "Into... More

My husband and I being Downton Abbey fans had to see the preview of the next season -2015. We dressed in a 1920's garb. Everyone was dressed up, the theatre has great seating, Beautiful decor and friendly staff! We will certainly come back to this gem!!

Your kind review means the world to us. And we loved the Nashville Public Television 1920's Soiree and Downton Abbey preview. I'm sure they also appreciate the support you gave to help make their programming possible. Please come again soon! More
