Description: The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first...
The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8 million to again enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more.

There's just something about the charm of an old theater that makes movies better and adds to the experience. We visited the theater before it's renovations, and I can't express how neat it is to see the restoration work and the quality of the events and shows being provided there. Whether you're a resident of this great talent, or just... More

Great venue for music, plays and movies. It has an intimate atmosphere that helps you relate to the musicians and/or actors. We went to see John Ford Coley and he did a great job of entertaining us.

A downtown theater, beautifully restored and operated by a non-profit foundation, is one of the premier attractions of this charming city. Offering a combination of older movies and live entertainment be sure to book online at franklintheater, com as many shows are sold out well in advance.

It took a lot of time, love, dedication, and yes, money, to bring this charming theatre back to life, but faithful patrons along with the help of a few country music stars did just that! The cozy ambience lends itself perfectly to movies, live productions, and a fantastic New Year's Eve party complete with the Big Band sound. It's not... More

The Franklin Theatre is a labor of love for many people in our town. It's been lovingly restored to its original Art Deco grandeur and has lots of vintage photos of Franklin. Be sure to visit the restroom on the main floor. Great historical pics. It's a small theatre with tables up by the stage and regular theatre seating on... More

Whether it is a show or a movie, sound system is pretty awesome. Although small, it has great seating as well as small tables to enjoy appetizers.

Thanks for the kind review and, you're correct, we invested a great deal into the audio experience our patrons enjoy. We actually have two separate systems in the room - one for movie surround sound and a separate one tuned to the room for live concerts. Hope you'll get a chance to visit again soon! More

If you have a chance to attend any music production at Franklin Theatre - you must do it Every seat is good, the sound is incredible, and the theatre itself is so much fun to be in for an event. Everything we have attended there has been enjoyed.

My wife and I and another couple saw the free showing of Nashville Public Televisions debut of "Poldark" at the Franklin Theater. NPT always puts on a good show - our favorite being a premiere showing of Downton Abbey in the NPT studios! The Franklin Theater is one of our favorite places to go - whether to see a movie,...
