Description: The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first...
The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown Franklin landmark closed in 2007 but the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, a nonprofit preservation group, stepped in to buy and rehabilitate the historic landmark. After three years of work, and an investment of more than $8 million, the historic Franklin Theatre reopened better than ever. It features classic movies and concerts from artists such as Little Texas, Jars of Clay, Mac McAnally and more.

One I first moved to town, I remember how they were raising funds to renovate the Theatre. I am so glad they did. I have been here to see a movie, watched the Super Bowl here and now have seen a performance. It is fantastic for all three! But, this is one of the best venues for an intimate performance.

Great place to see a play. This is a re-vamped old theater that shows live plays and the occasional movie. Decorated nicely and they serve beer and wine as well as soft drinks and popcorn

I attended a show this past weekend at the Franklin Theatre for the first time. I hope to make a return trip someday. The staff I talked with before the show were friendly and helpful. The venue is small, which makes it a great spot to see live music and meet locals. I don't think there's a bad seat in... More

Imagine being treated to the pleasure of a great performance or movie, conveniently ordering your tickets online, being able to select your actual seats, and not sitting through 40 minutes of previews for movies you have no desire to watch? Note: movie show time is the actual show time, so plan accordingly. We've enjoyed several show/performances here, but saw "Into... More

My husband and I being Downton Abbey fans had to see the preview of the next season -2015. We dressed in a 1920's garb. Everyone was dressed up, the theatre has great seating, Beautiful decor and friendly staff! We will certainly come back to this gem!!

The actual day that I moved here the Theater closed. It was then that the renovations started which took approx two years. The attention to detail in the restoration is unbelievable. I love this place and we frequent it often. A must see

Saw Tony Joe White there and I have to say it felt like a private concert. Theater is just wonderful and the volunteer ushers a pure delight. This should be a" must do" on any trip to Nashville .Leave time for a stroll and dinner on Main Street.

It was Friday night and I am in the Franklin Theater for the 1861 Project. It's the first time in the theater and sat in the upper floor section. The view of the stage was good and no problem listening to the great narrative and music concerning the 1861 Project. There was two small bars and a snack bar if... More

We love this place. It's our home town and would change location for anything. We love Downtown Franklin. The Theater was renovated recently and is a great place to catch a movie or a smaller concert. You just never know who may show up on any given day. After all we are in the middle of Counrty Music headquarters.

I used to go to the Rocky Horror midnight movie at the old theater and then it closed down with the promise of renovation. Not sure how close it came to being destroyed but funds were raised and renovation took place. It is now a landmark location and a gem among the unique shops and quaintness that surrounds it. No...
