The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8 million to again enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more.

I really wished every movie theater look like that these days. This reminded me a lot of the movie theater in Back to the Future. The outside is very old school and the sign makes the whole thing look great.

We go to a lot of concerts in the area (we live in Franklin). There is no better venue for live music! Only 300 seats so the concert has an intimate quality. Serving drinks is a nice touch. Have seen Art Garfunkel, Kingston Trio, Stephen Bishop, John Ford Coley, Paul Williams, B.J. Thomas, Mike Reid, etc. The refurbished theater is... More

Excellent small town theater. It's been completely refurbished. I especially like being able to have a cocktail or glass of beer during the show or event. My last visit was Christmas vacation. So many people dressed the part. It was like a big party. The best concert that I have seen has been at the Franklin Theater. Seats are assigned.... More

Seeing the movie, White Christmas, at the Franklin Theater has become a tradition in the last several years. We love anything at this theater. The acoustics are wonderful and it's the perfect size for movies, concerts, etc. We've had seats in several areas and they're all good. I definitely recommend going to this venue for any and every event. Just... More

Loved it!!!!!! The concert was amazing!!!! The theater was gorgeous and still had the nostalgic feel of the 1800's. Every seat in the auditorium was perfect. I really enjoyed the Christmas music and all of the guest singers.

Our family went to see Suzy Bogguss perform her 'Swingin' Little Christmas' show at the historic Franklin Theatre and we weren't disappointed. It is big enough to make the appreciative crowd feel abundant, yet small enough that every seat is a good one. The facilities are updated and comfortable, as are the seats. Concessions included alcoholic beverages and every seat... More

It's nice to be able to go enjoy a show with a good view, comfortable seating, cocktails and a warm atmosphere. We went for the Mandy Barnett Christmas show and it was fantastic. Highly recommended!

The city of Franklin made a great investment when they restored the "old" Franklin Theatre about 4 years ago. Now it hosts a variety of shows year round ranging from concerts, plays, and what you would expect in a theatre, movies. One of their simple pleasures is the reshowing of classic films throughout the year. The decore is vintage to... More

Before relocating to TN, we visited many suburbs around the Nashville area and fell in love with Franklin. We had the opportunity to visit the Franklin Theatre and as you enter, you are "going back in time". Once you come, you will definitely find it is worth it.
