Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

How many can remember when stoves were made in the old factory? A great history for Franklin and vicinity. The Jamison Factory was a new addition to an old established location.

There's lots of activities clustered in and around The Factory. It's home to the Franklin Farmer's Market (hours 9-12/9-1 in summer and it's covered). Great market - well attended by a variety of vendors year-round! The Factory has picked up somewhat as far as retailers and restaurants. Great coffee spot (Honest Coffee), pottery painting studio and several restaurants, some cute... More

In January of 2016, my daughter (teenager) and I toured the factory. We entered on a Saturday afternoon, and found it nearly deserted, most shops closed and little to enjoy. A coffee shop of interest, and potentially a restaurant that seemed interesting, yet overall there was little to see or experience. It appears this could be an interesting place, yet... More

I have been on several occasions to the Farmers Market, the restaurants around the property, and even to weddings and concerts inside this venue. Great little hub of fun things to do, and most everything is inside so enjoy in any weather.

I loved the Saturday farmers market! The food and crafts are fun to browse and I love the tasty samples. Local artists and farmers come together and are a joy to talk to. The Factory has an array of unique shops, I especially loved the vinyl record store and the artists.

This shopping "mall" is actually very cool. Lots of boutique and special interest shops, cool setup inside an old factory, and they do music, too. I recommend it, even for non-shoppers!

Plenty of boutique shops that have splashes of splendor but nothing that I would get excited about and this place does NOT rank in the 'must see this' catagory. If it's on your way, then it's a decent spot to waste some time. However, the "Music City Roots at the Factory" is a different story. There are no bad seats... More

If you're planning to spend the day at the Factory, you might want to reconsider...maybe 2 days or 3!...so much to see, do and experience...must see at Franklin!

I decided to go here while staying in Nashville for Thanksgiving. It was a bit outside the city of Nashville but didn't mind traveling in efforts to find a good deal and a novel experience. I was disappointed by the shops. There were boutiques that had bits of splendor but nothing that I would get excited about and do a... More

I do enjoy going to hear Music City Roots at the Factory. There are no bad seats, but you can reserve tickets (seats) ahead of time. Also you can grab a bite to eat from Monell's-just plain ole good southern cooking. Music City Roots venue is on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM. There also many unique shops around the factory... More
