Don't let the location fool you. This is a first rate regional theater with fabulous professional actors and musicians. Ticket prices are way cheap for the quality that you will receive. Two theaters. A mainstage and a smaller, more intimate theater. Not a bad seat in either house.

The quality of the performers and stagecraft will surprise you. Being close to the 'action', on stage and in the aisle, brings you into the story being told or sung. There is an excellent variety of comedy, drama and musicals productions during the year. We have season tickets and have never been disappointed in a performance.

The recent production we saw (late February) we chose "The Dixie Swim Club"; as usual, the production was extremely well done -- made you laugh and cry both. This production was in the smaller, more intimate, theatre (not the Main Stage); it makes you feel like you're included in the story! Well done, once again, Cumberland Playhouse!!

The Cumberland County Playhouse is a favorite place for me and my family - we all enjoy it from the kids to the adults. Fair prices for excellent productions - everything we've seen we've loved and O have never seen a sub-par production or performance at this playhouse. Truly a gem!

I recently saw the play Greace. I really loved the play!! I also really enjoyed the hobby performer who did a pre-show. It was a teen boy on the piano. He was dressed up in 50's attire. He performed lots of 50's songs and such a variety of all types of other music: classical, pop, rock. It was a real... More
