Enjoyed this place very much and even saw some little bats. Tennessee and Georgia both have wonderful things to offer and both are lovely states with wonderful, friendly people :)

You can ride the twisty roads up to the top, fish or use the boat ramp at the bottom, ride mountain bikes on the trails, and learn all about the TVA and it's electricity programs. It's well maintained and very interesting, as well as free!

We drove up to this building not having a good map to it from online. I was confused as to why I was going to a "Pump Station" but go there! I only could find questionable mapping and had some confusion in finding the place, BUT just went up the hill. The drive up was LONG and of varying speeds,...

Liked the ocean tour more than the river tour. Watched the Imax which was great!

Really beautiful view of the Tennessee Gorge aka TN Grand Canyon. It can be a long drive to get to it if you're driving from Raccoon Caverns, as you're driving up and around the mountain through trees and nothing else, and there aren't any restrooms along the drive (except mother nature). Worth the approximate 10 mile trip around the mountain.

The reservoir is huge and the guide told us that they can refill it in only 27 hours. That's amazing! The cost is free. The view is astounding!...

Not sure if this is something I'd visit if I weren't from Chattanooga, but if you're less than an hour away it's worth it. We went up here for mountain biking trails, which were more intense than I thought they'd be. But the park is very nice and the views are beautiful!

My husband and I visited the Raccoon Mountain Pump Station on March 3. This is the only pump station in Tennessee, and the only one in this area that we are aware. Basically it was neat finding out how the water is pumped to the top of a man-made lake and then used during peak periods to generate electricity. I...

Nice hiking trails, although you have to be alert for oncoming bikers. View from the overlook on the left just as you reach the mountaintop is maybe one of the best of downtown Chattanooga and to the north and east. But the view from the platform behind the visitors center is "gorgeous" (pun intended); you're looking down at the Tennessee...
