After reading up on some of the reviews of Point Park, we decided to make a trek up the mountain after the aquarium. We arrived at the park 2 hours before sunset and spent some time walking to different lookout points - Man, was it breathtaking! It really gives you a perspective of where everything is in Chattanooga. My only... more

We visited Point Park on a Saturday afternoon and the price was just right - free on weekends! The area is filled with Civil War history, memorials, cannons, and park rangers to answer questions and provide dialogue. The view from the top of Lookout Mountain was spectacular! We found parking on the street - meatered at Point Park, and free... more

If military history is your bag well pay a visit here. Or pay a visit if you like good views and fauna. We turned right from the incline and walked about 250 metres and bought loads of tat from the store nearby. Then for $3 we entered the park. Tickets are available from the small Ranger visitors centre or a... more

Take the trail that leads to Sunset Rock from Point Park. It's beautiful - as pretty and amazing as any mountain trail in the Eastern U.S. (if you don't have to see a waterfall at the end to feel fulfilled.) Great views! It's almost free! It's not crowded like other places up there. You can go at your own pace!... more

and I was not disappointed. I was on a journey of his last battles during the Civil War before he was captured and transported to Andersonville Prison in Ga, where our journey ended. I was not disappointed on my trip, although my husband and I got lost in Chicamauga for a couple of hours, which was alright. Its not a... more

About 3 blocks from the top of the incline railway in Chattanooga is Point Park, is an extension of the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park. This well manicured park with numerous hardwoods overlooking the site of the ‘battle above the clouds’ is a key location to visit as Chattanooga was a major railroad epicenter and would later serve as the staging... more

Trying not to repeat what has already been said, but this may be the best bargain and best kept secret in Chattanooga! We were lucky and found a clear day for our first visit there, and the views easily surpass those of Rock City and Ruby Falls. Take the Incline Railway to reach the top of the mountain, and walk... more

I've been to Point Park several times. Unless it is bad weather, the view will never disappoint. Don't think you have to be a Civil War buff to enjoy. It's a a great walk just to take in the scenery overlooking Chattanooga and the Tennessee River. The view of the Civil War artillery on the rocky crags of the mountain... more
