Although technically a misnomer, DUKWs are often referred to as duck boats. Another popular nickname was old magoo or simply magoo. Though the origin of this term is unknown, it probably refers to the odd shape of the vehicle. DUKWs became known as ''Ducks'' and are still in use, as well as purpose-built amphibious tour buses, primarily as tourist transport in harbor and river cities. « less

So much fun and learned so much. It did get a tad hot since they are open air but it was expected. Kids would love it and so would the guys. a favorite for sure!

Maybe I've been spoiled on other Duck Tours that I've taken in other cities, but just didn't get much out of this Duck Tour. The ride through town is extremely brief. Being my first time in Chattanooga, I would have expected more, especially with the history of the town. After getting in the water we traveled very slowly and basically... More

I had never done a "duck" tour before. We arrived at the time specified and our tour was almost completely loaded so we had to sit up in the high back seats in the sun. It wasn't miserably hot but I worried about sunburn for the kids. Our tourguide, Steve, was great. He was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The kids... More

Very different & a different way to tour the city and to learn about the history of the area. Did it with some adult friends and my 7 year old granddaughter. I think she would have been bored except she knew that at some point they would let her steer the boat ( all the kids on the boat had... More

The 1 hour tour provides the military history of the duck boats, a brief downtown tour, and a great river tour...plus it's just plain fun! Our guide also provided great tips and information on restaurants, other attractions, etc. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best attractions to be found on the Tennessee River. Great fun - great guide. Chattanooga has a lot of places to see, but this is certainly one of the best!

It was fun and informative. You get a one hour tour of the Chattanooga riverfront with some helpful commentary from the driver guide. The Duck is relatively slow in the water so do not expect a thrill ride.

We took the family to Chattanooga for a day trip and decided to take a duck boat tour. Our kids loved it. The tour guide was awesome...told funny jokes, let the kids take a turn at the wheel, and kept us entertained. Great opportunity to experience a piece of history!

We keep seeing these odd boat/ vehicles in the entertainment area and finally took the tour. The ducks are a little tight if it s bigger person, but the driver/guide we had was funny and informative. After a brief ride through down town we headed to the river and drove right out not the water, a few seconds later we... More
