The only thing I knew about Rock City before going was from the "See Rock City" signs I had seen painted in the roof of barns. The natural rocks and paths were interesting to look at and experience. The waterfall and look out to 7 states were beautiful. We did not expect to see Gnome Village or Fairytale Cavern. I'm... More

Rock City offers a walking path through interesting rock formations, great views of the Chattanooga Valley, and a hokey fairy tale theme. It is at its best at Christmas when it is decorated with thousands of lights.

All my life in the South, those "see rock city" signs fascinated me. Now I've seen it, and it was truly beautiful. The natural formations were fascinating, as my 12 yr old put it - magical looking. Never seen anything like it before. And the stunning views from the top and the waterfall at Lovers Leap -wow! Could do w/o... More

I honestly did not know what Rock City was when we left, so here is what to expect. It is a Rock Garden that has tunnels and caverns, that early visitors, stated made them feel as they where visiting a Rock City. The acutal rock and water formations and views are impressive. I went to early in spring to truly... More

We recently visited Rock City with our grandchildren and celebrated our granddaughters birthday. It was a beautiful blue sky day and we truly saw 7 states! Perfect family attraction with lots to see and experience our beautiful scenic city of Chattanooga.

We were very impressed with Rock City. More than just rocks this place has native plants throughout. Very pretty views. Historically, one of the past owners was fascinated with gnomes which are sprinkled throughout. The blacklighted fairy tales and nursery rhymes are tacky but part of the history.

My wife and I were unsure that Rock City would be a good fit for our two oldest children, ages 7 & 5. To our surprise they seemed to enjoy Rock City just as much as us! Our girls loved traversing the tiny paths, crossing the suspension bridge, and checking out the fairy tale scenes. It was a perfect family... More

Visited Chattanooga, TN to go to aquarium, museum, and rock city with friends and family. It was raining so we headed to the indoor activities first, had a late lunch downtown then headed up the mountain to Rock City. We had checked the website the night before for hours and weather related closings. After the winding roads and pretty drive... More

RC is set up so that you can walk through at your own pace and spend as much (or as little) time as you'd like exploring. There are some really beautiful views at the top of Lookout Mountain; if you're debating between taking the Incline Railway or this, I would recommend this if you can handle a little walking because... We have 3, 7, and 14 year old boys. Each of the kids enjoyed Rock City as did my husband and myself. I've been going to Rock City since I was a child. It was fantastic being able to share this place of magic with my husband and children. We attended the weekend before St. Patrick's Day. We loved hearing... More
