We made a special trip to see the Chattanooga Choo Choo. We were disappointed to find ourselves in what we perceived a very unsafe area. The train's engine was basically something to look at and take a photo. There were several cars behind it, that looked dilapidated. You couldn't go in or look inside of any of them. That's ALL... We have sung the song from being young and now we have actually been there. Lovely little gift shops. Nice setting with free parking and lots of information. We didn't realise it was also a hotel otherwise we would have stayed there.

The original Station has been transformed into a hotel. The old railway carriages are used as rooms which is novel. We stayed in one of the buildings at the rear of the hotel which is in need of some refurbishment ($8million is soon to be spent on this at the end of this year) the rooms were all right though... This was a real treat. The train is sparkling and the kids can climb over it. The station has been landscape brilliantly and a great pace to sit and watch the world go by. And there are plenty of them visiting. Font forget to look in on the hotel lobby.

We had fun here. Just reading about the history and seeing the trains etc. It is a great piece of history. Not a huge attraction, but nice, clean, well maintained and very enjoyable. I would go back when I am in Chattanooga again.

Nice and interesting stop. Very friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but had a good look around and it is worth a visit even if you just have a wonder around.

A very cool place to visit for train lovers and those just interested in something to do in a beautiful place. The mountain atmosphere was so nice and fun to do especially this time of year and through the fall.

This is a great place for model railroad enthusiasts! Their model railroad is huge and one of the best I have seen anywhere! We spent over an hour just watching the many trains running over hill and dale, through cities, small towns, through tunnels and over rivers. Nice people - Reasonable prices. There are also full size trains on site,... More

When this place was opened in the 70's, it was grand, but the years have taken a toll. The management has failled to keep up with the times, hotel rooms are poor quality, whole place smells 'old". Not a true picture of what Chattanooga has become over the past 20 years. I understand just this past week that the management... More

You could tell it used to be an old train station. My husband and I enjoy history so this was a lot of fun for us. The grounds inside the station were well maintained and very pretty. Getting to see the train up close was neat. We rode the trolley and we were the only family on it. It was... More
