As we were on an overnight stop in Chattanooga we thought this was a must and from information on the website it looked to be worth a visit. Other than the Choo Choo not a lot to see and most of the shops were closed. If you are in the area pop in but don't make a special journey.

I thought this was an iconic spot in Chattanooga and was a *must do* while we were here. (it's even the feature picture for the city.) evidently, the hotel is "gentrifying" and putting in several chain restaurants, but at the moment, their website and all the tourist info is wrong. It is a hotel, there are train cars you can... More

I decided to check this place out so I could send pictures to my nephews who love trains. The trains could not be boarded unless you were a hotel guest or were going to eat in the restaurants in them which opened later ( I was here around 9-10 am). The trains have a history to them which is interesting... More

Staying at the Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo was a different experience. The hotel part is just a plan ole hotel. We paid the extra and had the experience of staying in a train car. It was nice if you are an avid train fan. If you are not really into trains and want that experience, not worth the experience. The... More

This review is mostly concerning the lodging part of the Choo Choo Hotel. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay in one of the Victorian train cars at the hotel! It was a nice-sized room with full amenities. Just don't expect a huge bathroom. The furnishings were nice and the décor was of the period when sleeper cars were... More

I read some of the other reviews before returning to the choo choo. I found it to be a great free tour, while yes it was in very slight decline, they had a crew repairing the roof and working on the choo choo. I got some awesome pictures of the gardens surrounding the choo choo. I sometimes think people are... More

The gardens are very well kept as well as the train cars. The shops and restaurants are neat. We did rate the room as below average but the attraction piece will not disappoint. It is a nice walk through the gazebos and water landscapes. The historical part of this place takes you back to a time when this place was... More

I took my daughter (15) and niece (16) to ride the Chattanooga Choo Choo. They had never rode on a train, and I just wanted them to experience it. They stated they loved the 3.5 mile train ride. My 16 year old niece stated she liked the train ride so much that she didn't understand why everyone didn't travel by... More

Visited the Choo Choo first weekend of August. Could not access several shops because there was no handicapped ramp. The whole property seems to be "outdated". Did visit Little Lace Lady shop, which was handicap accessible and was such a great experience we will go back just to visit this shop. If you want to visit them too, be sure... More

Not a lot going on at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. The hotel lobby is impressive. The grounds are beautiful. The choo choo itself is underwhelming. Too many tourists around to get any good pics. Everyone fighting for there 1 minute leaning out the window. Staying overnight in one of the Victorian sleeping cars is intriguing. Maybe next trip.
