When this place was opened in the 70's, it was grand, but the years have taken a toll. The management has failled to keep up with the times, hotel rooms are poor quality, whole place smells 'old". Not a true picture of what Chattanooga has become over the past 20 years. I understand just this past week that the management... More

You could tell it used to be an old train station. My husband and I enjoy history so this was a lot of fun for us. The grounds inside the station were well maintained and very pretty. Getting to see the train up close was neat. We rode the trolley and we were the only family on it. It was... More

All of the singing servers are professional entertainers, and it makes for a very entertaining evening. We went with my husband's company for a Christmas dinner, and the food was terrific; the entertainment was wonderful; and the ambience was really great. Looking at the old train cars that are actually hotel rooms made us want to go back and stay... More

The old train is parked here behind the old depot, now a hotel, in nicely landscaped little park area. There are quite a few wonderful small unique shops surronding the square.

Three is usually a charm. Not in this case. We wanted to stay in one of the cars. The first room smelled and was uncomfortable warm even at the lowest temperature setting; the next car room also smelled and was very soiled; the third car offered a combination of the first two. We fled to another hotel that was less... More

There is construction planned, so the former station and hotel are gradually emptying of the small shops presently there. Most of the railroad cars are sleepers used for the hotel and are only open for hotel guests. The Chattanooga Choo Choo engine is a nice spot for pictures, but not much else at the moment.

As we were on an overnight stop in Chattanooga we thought this was a must and from information on the website it looked to be worth a visit. Other than the Choo Choo not a lot to see and most of the shops were closed. If you are in the area pop in but don't make a special journey.

I thought this was an iconic spot in Chattanooga and was a *must do* while we were here. (it's even the feature picture for the city.) evidently, the hotel is "gentrifying" and putting in several chain restaurants, but at the moment, their website and all the tourist info is wrong. It is a hotel, there are train cars you can... More

I decided to check this place out so I could send pictures to my nephews who love trains. The trains could not be boarded unless you were a hotel guest or were going to eat in the restaurants in them which opened later ( I was here around 9-10 am). The trains have a history to them which is interesting... More

Staying at the Holiday Inn Chattanooga Choo was a different experience. The hotel part is just a plan ole hotel. We paid the extra and had the experience of staying in a train car. It was nice if you are an avid train fan. If you are not really into trains and want that experience, not worth the experience. The... More
