I've traveled here multiple times, but the property isn't worth visiting until renovations are complete. It's tired, outdated, and simply needs some (much needed) help to preserve its history.

Don't waste your time. Just look at pictures and Wikipedia to brush up on the history. It is run down and dirty. The store is a strange and small assortment of cheap toys.

We stopped by on a journey through Chattanooga. It was worth stopping to see. There are renovations going on but the staff are very welcoming and friendly and it costs nothing to call in. We came on the free electric bus! This is a great city! We wish we had a little more time to explore!

I had no idea that the hotel was being renovated. Even if I had known I would have never expected that they would rent out rooms in these conditions. Behind the main building, which houses the "front desk", restaurant, and stores are three separate buildings. We were in building three. The elevator had a five gallon bucket catching oil at... Who doesn't want to experience eating in a train car? Cool for younger kids but even the older ones will enjoy. The thin crust pizza is good. Drinks are in bottles. You go to the counter to place your order and they bring it to your table. Good for a quick lunch. You have to go to the hotel to... More

We were very excited to learn there was a real Chattanooga Choo Choo and we went for the train. There isn't much to see train wise. They have several trains there and one is brightly painted, which is supposed to be the Chattanooga Choo Choo. You can't go through the train and we walked down several of the cars and... More

Interesting history and good to visit. But there is not much to see. Train lovers would like to visit it.

Impossible to miss. Chattanooga is the most delightful place for train lovers. Though sour kids are quite grown up, they really enjoyed themselves.

We walked around the grounds of this historic hotel. My 2 year old is obsessed with trains, so he really enjoyed it and liked being able to stand on an old engine. The grounds are very pretty with nice fountains and gorgeous flowers. We ended up with some beautiful family photos.
