I love Lookout Mountain. Driving up is such a residential setting, but it is so pretty. The road is extremely narrow and if it rains you might go off the road if you drive over 30. The views though, wow! This is a must see if visiting or even living in Chattanooga.

Traveled as a couple (57 & 61) and spent the afternoon here. The drive up is a bit steep but the view is amazing. We spent a few hours looking around taking photos and looking in the gift shop which offers allot of items for young and old at reasonable prices.

We stayed near Lookout Mt and toured it and Ruby Falls. Both were excellent attractions! We also drove into Chattanooga for lunch, walk along the water, and took the trolley to the Chattanooga Choo Choo. The entire area is lovely.

Really old attractions which are worth every penny. You will not find fast rides or an adrenaline rush but rather your mouth will fall open in awe at the beauty of these attractions. Lest you insist on the adrenaline, they have now added ziplining to this area which will bring us back for another visit.

Views are fantastic. Plenty to see and do. Take a picnic for less expense. Wear flat shoes as lots of walking.

The ride up to the top is pretty wild. It hits a 72 degree angle, at one point, which is almost straight up! The view at the top is awesome. Other than a great view and a cheesy gift shop, that's all there is to it.

The name " Lookout Mountain " is said to have come from the Cherokee term for "two mountains looking at each other. Near Chattanooga, the caves of Ruby Falls are contained within Lookout Mountain, and the rock formations of the "City of Rocks" (or Rock City) attraction are situated on the ridge. From the "Rock City" we can see seven... More
