We recently spent 3 nights at Henry Horton as part of a family gathering. We booked our cabin a year in advance (including giving a deposit), and on the day that I was to check in, I had to argue with the staff to prove it. We ended up in a different cabin for a night. That aside, the cabins... More

We drove three hours to this park with our flat back canoe on the trailer, understanding through all information online that there was a boat ramp available. However, there is no place to but in a boat from a trailer without a 4 wheel drive anywhere there or close by. The very steep ramp at the park is blocked and... More

This park was a day trip for us. It has beautiful picnic areas and lots of playgrounds! We saw deer on the campground/golf course side. That's always a treat! There is a pool which anyone can use for a fee (if you stay overnight, I think it's free). Cabins look like they need a little TLC. An inn is also... More

There is a golf course here, I think. I don't golf, so we did not take advantage of that. We did use the lodge and the food was good.

Nice place to take the family and relax or BBQ. Very pretty scenery. The Teens had fun walking around and looking for other teens.

Henry Horton Sate Park will fill your every need. They have great meeting facilities, a huge pool along with a kiddie pool, tennis courts, volley ball, not to mention a world famous golf course. The restaurant at Henry Horton has an all you can eat buffet that is second to none! They have rooms at the hotel or cabins to... More

Lovely quiet Park, for walks with your dog, lovely river views, well maintained, and good Rangers patrol often, so its safe. Has a frisby golf course which is great fun, and the restaurant does a great buffet. Swimming pool is open in the summer and there are tennis and basketball courts if you are feeling energetic. The hotel and cabins... More

Henry Horton State Park is a small but very nice park. I always love going to the park to ride my bike or take the kids to play. It's right on the Scenic Duck River with canoe & kayak access. The resturant is always busy on weekends. There is a hotel and cabins though I've never stayed. There is a... More

The newest trail - the Duck River Trail is a good 3.5 mile hike for all ages. The park map does not show the entire trail, which was annoying. Start at the Wilhite Mill trailhead, go under the bridge and walk along the river towards the campgrounds. The trial loops after about 1.3 miles at the observation platform

Some of the reviews here are glowing, and others say the park is awful. I think the truth lies in between, and hinges a lot on your plans and expectations. Henry Horton is a small park, and its facilities are older. The buildings date back to the 60s and that's pretty apparent. The cabins are definitely dated, and they would... More
