This is an excellent stop as you enjoy this part of the country. Breathtaking views, rocky outcroppings, and open plains. Visitor Center is family friendly.

The center is in the town of Wall, SD. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Buffalo Gap is on the edge of Badlands National Park. We were there to see both.

During our trip to Wall Drug and Wall Harley Davidson, we decided to stop at this visitor center right down the street. When we first pulled up, we honestly thought it was closed. But we went up to the door and realized it was open. So we went in and got our National Park Passport stamped and looked around the... More

That is how many acres the government owns that are designated National Grasslands. Worth the visit to see the 25 minute film and the displays. Three blocks from Wall Drug. Posted by grinandbrakeit.com

This was a nice little center right next to my hotel in Wall. The people there gave us some nice posters and brochures, and were very friendly. It also has a nice little museum explaining the wildlife and plant life of the national grasslands. Worth a quick stop if you are staying in Wall.

As you travel through Wall, don't miss this site. It is very informative with good displays about the importance of our nation's grasslands. If you have an extra 25 minutes, you might want to take in the video. The staff was very eager to help.

Our family enjoyed our stop at the Nat'l Grasslands visitor center. My girls worked on their Junior Ranger badges & got quite a haul for their effort. The center has a very nice display and some interactive stuff that was fun for the kids. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The young man at the Visitor center was on his own and unable to answer some basic questions. He apologized or the fact that there were no Park Rangers available at that time. It is a very nice, well appointed facility with helpful handouts.

This visitor center is small but quality. Introduces one to all the things that grow in the west. Always stop there when visiting Wall because it gets us in the frame of mind to see in the wild all the animals the west harbors. Highly recommend.
