We stayed in Spearfish on a recent trip north, a first for my husband and I. If the scenery wasn't reason enough, the location was perfect for taking motorcycle rides to various points of interest. Fifteen minutes can have you enjoying lots of history in Deadwood, SD, or an hour the opposite direction, you can be standing in awe at... More

We were blown away by Spearfish Canyon. Very scenic with waterfalls right by the road. We went in winter and Bridalveil fall was completely iced over. Breathtaking. It isn't a long drive either, just a beautiful one. We will go back in the Spring and hike some of the trails.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. Be sure to take the scenic byway--it is like nothing I've ever seen before! Great ANY time of year

The canyon is a beautiful area. If you are visiting the black hills, you need to drive through the canyon at least once. I also suggest stopping at the waterfalls. They are absolutely gorgeous, especially once they freeze over in the winter. Lovely area and one I recommend to everybody who is in the area.

Had so much fun wIth my family here. The weather was perfect and the fall colors started changing. The waterfall was a nice little wonderland area. The trails had easy access. Americas best kept secret

This scenic byway was shorter than I expected. The first fall (bridal Veil) was very lightly flowing but Spearfish Falls and Roughlock Falls were flowing nicely. The 1 mile trail was nice and follows a river. Other than the falls I did not see anything else to really see.

The canyon is a must-see in the Black Hills, any time of the year. Some say it is most beautiful in the fall, but it has its own beauty both in summer and winter (and spring, too).

Even though the Snow Storm Atlas in October 2013 broke off many trees, the views through Spearfish Canyon are beautiful. I never get tired of driving the canyon.
