Enjoyed the unique approach to the outside museum. Signage was terrific and very educational. Be sure to read the long sign dealing with the 16" guns. Wow...nicely done. The inside museum is very well done. The small model of the USS South Dakota was to be expected but that large model was terrific. They have done an excellent job telling... More

Wonderful collection of items and stories from the USS South Dakota and its occupants - both indoor and outdoor displays. Friendly, knowledgeable greeter. Some items for sale.

My son (10years old) got to pick the next place we visited in Sioux Falls and this was his choice, it was amazing! The idea of how large the ship was, the actual pieces of the ship the photos, news articles and stories!! It really brings history to life and makes the sacrifices of our service men and women tangible... More

The former history major in me put on my nerd glasses and spent over a hour walking around and reading every thing about the ship. The actual size of the ship is amazing as well as the great museum in the center are wonderful.

This free museum is a nice, quiet place to spend an hour or so learning the history of Battleship X. Many people don't realize there is a museum on the property as you drive by and see the outline of the ship.

Laid out well, interesting and informative. Plus it's free. Go see it if your in the area. It shows the power of the naval fleet when the USA and our people work together.

A good quick stop to get out and stretch on the way through Sioux Falls. Outside there is a replica of the ships footprint as well as an anchor, guns and signs telling the ships history. The museum inside had interesting memorabilia from the actual ship.

The outside park is marked to show the complete outline of the ship. There is a piece of the teak deck that you can stand on and then read about. My daughter told me that standing on that small piece of wood brought home to her that the ship was a real place with real men in a real war.... More
