The Great Plains Zoo offers visitors an up-close look at more than 1,000 animals, from anteaters to zebras, penguins to porcupines, and including an exciting animal collection often not found in larger zoos: tigers, snow leopards, giraffes, rhinoceros, flamingoes and a variety of primates. The Zoo also includes the Delbridge Museum of Natural History, a local treasure that houses a rare, one-in-the-world collection of 150 mounted animals, including 36 “vanishing species”.

I had read some of the previous reviews (as I always do before visiting) and was surprised by how much more I experienced. We were 3 seniors, 1 adult and 1 stroller. Price is under 10 bucks, baby free. You will need to bring drinks along (you can buy them in museum.) It was a lot more walking than anticipated.... More

Was pleasantly surprised by the assortment of animals. However, the size of the cages are very depressing and incredibly small.

Typical small town zoo. Nice grounds, but hard to see some of the animals. Young ones will enjoy. Adults will probably be bored.

My favorite exhibit was the bear water dam. You look over them from the top, and it's like they are in the stream in nature. The peacocks running around free are so cool. Love this place!

Great zoo! We had a wonderful time watching the tiger. Nice sized zoo. Not to big nor small. Had a coupon which was nice. Well worth the stop!

One of the best zoo's around. Well kept and maintained. Always something for the kids to enjoy. The train ride is a must,it's a behind the scenes tour. Nice area to sit and relax while eating lunch.

this is a great zoo, not so oversized that you get exhausted visiting the whole zoo..its very family oriented and well situated, lots of animals that you can really see. It has an indoor exhibit which is wonderful...large area filled with taxidermied animals, animals that are more common and animals that are quite rare...it is very well place and theres... More

It was a nice way to spend part of an afternoon. They had a good selection of animals, we understand some of the birds taken off exhibit due to bird flu, but there were quite a few other enclosures that were empty. Some of the enclosures could have been a bit larger to give the animals more room, but that's... More
