I was shocked to see the huge display of taxidermy animals when you first enter the zoo. The kid friendly learning stations were wonderful and educational. There are so many different animals & displays. We spent the whole day there and loved every minute of it.

We really enjoyed the GP Zoo in Sioux Falls. This is not Kansas City or Omaha, but the pride and quality of care for the animals is very much apparent. We loved some of the unique exhibits such as the snow monkeys and asian cats. The zoo's layout and theming were both very well done. Even on a chilly May... More

Plan to spend several hours if you like animals. Bring your camera & study shoes for walking & standing there looking!. It is interesting. It may a little difficult to locate in Sioux Falls but don't give up - it is right there.

As a parent of a young child, we like to go to zoos. This one was not bad. With it still technically in winter hours, a lot of the exhibits were missing animals. The different monkeys there were all pretty active though, so it was nice to watch them moving, rather than snoozing. The giraffes were a lot of fun,... More

We went to the zoo when there was snow on the ground and were thinking it would be mostly closed. We were happily surprised that there was a ton to see and so many great animals. My favorite was the Pallas's cat, that guy had so much personality and cracked me up! Don't let the time of year stop you... More

The zoo offers a special children’s petting area as well as displaying traditional “don’t even think about petting” animals. Divided into environmentally diverse sections, the 1,000 live animals include a featured Snow Monkey exhibit – one of only 13 in the country, and a special Rare Rhinos of Africa exhibit. The Snow Monkeys were quite the crowd pleasers as kids... More

This is the best zoo I have ever seen. They have everything from Lions, Tigers, and Bears Oh my. The Giraffes were so cool, and I loved the monkeys. They were so rambunctious. Great place to take the family. Kids would love it. Highly recommend it.

The zoo has many animals for its size and it is easy to make your way around the area. There are plenty of snack shacks and other facilities. I believe it is a great place to spend 2-3 hours.

We took our little one to the zoo here on our last day in town. There were many exotic African animals as well as many others such as Japanese snow monkey, and Asian big cats. The enclosures were set up for both animal comfort and ease of viewing in mind, and it shows. Many times at zoos you are lucky... More

We have been to this zoo several times and have found it to be average. We stopped again because it has a dinosaur exhibit currently. The kids loved it! We visited right away in the morning and noticed all the animals were a bit more active. The sidewalks were cleared of bird poop and overall everything looked nice. A special... More
