Pros: Nice animals. The penguins were great fun to watch. The exhibits' glass is kept clean, so you don't have to peer through fingerprints and smudges. The zoo is growing, and the new exhibits are as nice as the old ones. Cons: It was late and rainy when we got there so not all of the animals were out. The... More

Very nice well maintained zoo. It's not a huge zoo, but it does have some really cool animals. The snow monkeys are awesome! Reasonably priced.

This zoo has a lot to offer and doesn't require you to spend the entire day here. The animals are healthy, the setting is pretty and there is a petting zoo and train for children. I love going here.

We visited this zoo 8/1/2014. The weather was mild for the 1st of Aug. so the animals were fairly active. Monkeys were entertaining and we spent about 2 hours wandering through the exhibits. The Zoo was clean and well kept. An easy walk through as the area is fairly flat, no big hills.

This zoo is just a regional zoo with limited animals and limited imagination. Yes, the exhibits are not varied or expansive, but it was a perfectly acceptable Saturday with the grand daughters, and we would go back.

There isn't anything great about this zoo. Many of the exhibits are empty or only have one animal inside. There aren't any unique animals, either.

I took my 2 year old and was pleasantly surprised. We were able to ride the train, feed the giraffe, have a quick lunch, and see some animals. The price was reasonable.

We went to this zoo to kill a few hours in the afternoon and were surprised with it! It's honestly the perfect size and took us about an hour to briskly walk through. Our son is only 2 years old so his attention span on the animals was minimal and we didn't spend more than a minute or two at... More

This was our second visit to the Great Plains Zoo. We had visited about 6 years ago, and were pleased to see that some significant upgrades have been made during that time interval. The giraffe exhibit is still one of the highlights for sure. Overall this is a decent medium sized zoo. There were no real problems, but aside from... More

Being from Nebraska, we know and appreciate Omaha's zoo but since we were in the area, we wanted to take in another zoo and we were pleasantly surprised! It's SO much more enjoyable simply because it is not of such a monstrous size! Sure, it wasn't as sparkly as others we've been to but it also wasn't as expensive. It... More
