Just love Rapid City downtown. Its truly been developed nicely. The statues of Presidents on every corner is quite interesting (all over the downtown) and in the dead of a cold winter, hats and scarves, etc are hung on them for homeless or those who need them (a city that seems to care too). Its a relatively safe downtown. I... More

Was a delighted to find a honest coin and gold dealer in Rapid City. Nat was helpful and the owner was very honest with my son and I.

There are many great things to see and do in Rapid City but the most unique is the walking tour of the life sized bronze sculptures of the U.S. presidents. Every street corner hosts one of these sculptures. Many excellent dinning venues are open for both lunch and dinner as well.

If you want to say at home I highly recommend touring downtown Rapid City. We found a huge diverse mix of wonderful dining opportunities. Plus ice skating and lots of unique shopping (found Tiffany and Kate Spade at the Clock shop Pawn museum ) If you have time visit Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, and Evans Plunge for an off season... More

We enjoyed our walk through downtown. We went on a Sunday so many of the shops were closed, but the atmosphere was nice and the statues of the Presidents were very cool.

I have traveled quite a bit and even lived in Austin TX for a while. I can honestly say that down town Rapid City is better. There are plenty of places to get a drink and grab a bit. The shopping is definitely better than Austin and the atmosphere is so much more pleasant. The presidential statues are well made... More

I have lived within a few hundred miles of Rapid City all my life and this was my first visit...I so wish I had made the trip earlier. What a nice surprise. There is so much history within 25 miles that you could spend a month to take it all in. Definitely worth the visit.

Some very unique stores and shops downtown that not only offer some great buys but a very cool history of this region as you shop.
