Downtown Rapid City is a pretty nice area to walk around. My husband is a history buff and really enjoyed running to all the street corners and looking at the statues of the presidents.

We had to cancel our visit to Deadwood because of dense fog on the interstate and headed back into Rapid City. We stopped at the information center, picked up the brochure on the presidential statues from the friendly well informed staffer there and we headed out to the about six block area to find the presidents. The bronze statues are... More

Lots of local shops and restaurants. Very clean and lots of art out in the open on the street. A great area in the middle with a stage for concerts and events, fountains themed to music, and coffee shops and restaurants as well. Loved it!

Visit downtown Rapid... Lots more interesting than the chain stores along the highway and at the mall. Great restaurants, shops and ambiance.

Nice downtown park, but just not much there within walking distance except maybe one museum. Pretty industrial otherwise...

Rapid City's Downtown has so much to offer. From eateries to pubs, to clothing and the arts and don't forget a President on almost every corner. In the summer the City puts on a large block party that includes 2 bands. It is a family environment and it has a kids zone. When in Rapid you should spend time downtown... More

I liked all the grain elevators and the stores in downtown Rapid City! We got off the wrong exit this afternoon and it was exciting looking at all the stores. I spotted a fabric store with quilting and that is what I like to do in my spare time!

Make sure you go through the graffiti alley. Loved seeing all the presidents in bronze on the corners.
