In the downtown district are Bronze sculptures of the presidents. It is a great walk. Find a place to park; much is metered parking. Go up one side of the street and continue to the end. Then cross the street and walk down the other side of the street to view all the sculptures in their bronze glory.

Downtown Rapid City is a unique experience. We visited the President Information Center for a guide to the location of the bronze statues of the presidents. Not only did we learn where each president is, we got information about the statue that gave us some insight into the president's life or personality. Then there's Artist Alley where the backs of... The fountains and concerts at Main St. Square, the restaurants, theater and shops, are all attractions on their own. Put them together and it makes Rapid City's downtown area a fun place to be. Thursday evenings in the summer and early autumn are one big party. We just had the Pumpkin Festival. This town loves to have fun. And it's... More

It is so exciting to see what is happening downtown. The Main Street Square is a wonderful addition. I love participating in the events and feeling all the positive energy. The shopping and restaurant selections are great. Our downtown is indeed thriving!

Downtown Rapid City is great; something for everyone. There is the Alex Johnson Hotel, with it's spooky past, bars, stores, you name it. Everywhere you look is something interesting. And don't forget the bronze statues on almost every corner! Wonderful city.

Very walkable and plenty places to park, eat and shop. I found some local items for early Christmas shopping on products made in the area. The main meeting area has activities scheduled events all season long. Very safe and genuinely friendly towards tourists.

We found this attraction on T/A and found it a lot of fun. We were blessed with great weather which was a bonus as this is a bit of walking. We had just been to Mt Rushmore the day before and thought it would be cool to get photos of the same president's statues as we on the mountain. Ended... More

Walk of the presidents was great. Life size bronze statues of all the presidents on the street corners, and a nice memorial museum of the presidents. Great for taking pictures

Great shops, antique stores, art galleries and local art as well. Plenty of places to choose from as well as the Presidential statues at each corner are fun to find.

Every shop was within easy walking distance within the city. The people are very used to tourists and I found them all to be helpful and friendly.
