We took our 4, 9 and 12 year old there and they all had a great time, especially the 4 year old. Many sites to see and you can easily be there a couple of hours before you know it. Photo opportunities are all over. Free to get in which is always a big plus when you are trying to... more

Our kids (9 & 6) absolutely loved Storybook Island! We were there for about two hours, and probably would have been there two more if the kids had their way. We had mixed reviews of Storybook Island. We took our six-year-old and our one-year-old in June 2006. My wife and I seemed to enjoy the park more than our kids did. If you have kids, this is a must! There are many themes based on movies, cartoons, and old nursery rhymes. Themes vary from Pooh to Little Mermaid. My kids loved learning all the old nursery rhymes before and singing them on the way to the Dakotas. To see the rhymes and movie characters in reality, WOW! My kids were estatic.... more

We love storybook island! I remember going here as a kid and now we take our kids whenever we get back to Rapid City. It is all storybook themed - statues of characters from movies and books and nursery rhymes(like winnie-the-pooh, 101 dalmations, cinderella, etc) - in a park you can walk around. The Current Storybook Island which I had a change to visit with my small kinfolk at Christmas last year is located just off of Jackson Blvd. heading toward Canyon Lake. This park is great for kids and should be seen as an excellent if they are still young, for older kids who are trying to prove that they are older will not appreciate the park. more
