To start, this place was a little expensive for how small the tour is. Other than that, it was very fun! You need to be able to do moderate/strenuous exercise, as there is a lot of stairs and the climb back up is a little tiring! Very beautiful cave!

I explore caves all over the country and I can verify that Sitting Bull has some of the biggest crystals that you will see in any cave tour. It does however have a very steep staircase going into the cave that the elderly might want to avoid.

I expected this cave to be a tourist trap but took my little sister anyway. It was fun but a little scary for her (she's 10) as there are a lot of steep stairs descending into the cave, much like going down a ladder. I wouldn't recommend this for people with a fear of heights but it was a fun... More

Sitting Bull Caverns is relatively close to Rapid City, and for travelers, is on the way to Keystone and Mt. Rushmore. Located in a very pleasant area. Unlike many caves, you have to do a little climbing - but in my opinion this adds to the "realism" of caving. Tour guides are excellent, although I do find the formations and... More

Husband, son, and friend were only people on last tour of the day, guide showed them some areas that he said were normally closed to the public. They thought that was cool.

You will be ascending the 10 story staircase that you have to descend backwards...just a warning. It's was neat down there, but there aren't any big stalactities or stalagmites or columns, just loads of dogtooth quartz crystals and the like.

Nice family run attraction but not a very big cave. Be fully prepared to climb a lot of stairs (some people had issues getting back up.) Nice display inside, great guides. Reasonably priced.

Was a long way down, and a long way up, so if you have any issues, think twice about it. It was very interesting to see, and the story behind it was interesting as well. It was a first time in a cavern, so don't have anything to compare it with, but for a first time it was cool and... More

I don't like ladders, and to get into the cavern, you go down over 300 steep steps. The hand rail was wet and very cold so hard to hold. This being said, the cavern was so unusual being made from crystal instead of rock and dirt. And believe it or not, I didn't realize I had already made it back... More

We had an excellent tour guide. She knew the history and made the whole tour interesting. The group was small enough and we felt real comfortable asking questions.
