smaller than some of the bigger caves in the area, quite a few very steep stairs. Very cold hand rail but pretty cave formations and fun guide. Privately owned and more expensive than some of the larger caves, I would recommend if you can only do one go to one of the larger caves in the area.

We visited with two kids, 12 and 10. They had no trouble with the steep steps. The tour guide was good. It is 45 or 50 degrees inside the cave and it was 85 degrees outside. We also visited Jewel Cave (Lantern Tour) and liked that better. Pricing was a bit higher than we expected.

Went to Rushmore Cave the day before and liked it, so we thought we would try another. Steps are not that bad, just a little cold on the hands holding the handrail. Seeing the dogstooth spar was a change from stalactites and stalagmites. Followed the nature trail when we were done with the cave tour, pleasant little walk.

This tour of the Sitting Bull Caverns was the highlight of our recent trip of the Rapid City area. The road in is very winding- do follow the advice of the signs and do not take an RV down this road. Once in the gift shop we proceeded to sign up for a tour. The attendant advised that if we... More

We decided to visit the Crystal Caverns based on a brochure in our hotel. We rode our motorcycle out to the location. (we were there for the bike rally in Sturgis) The entrance says, go 1 mile. So we started driving, we crossed a cattle guard and then there was an extremely windy, blind curve, downward zig zag to the... More

This was a cool event for me and my 10 year old. Be ready to climb about 200 very steep steps. Bring a jacket - 45 degrees once you enter the cave. Our guide was a high school kid who didn't reall know much.

The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they make very sure to mention the height on the stairs going down into the cave. The problem is, they scared both my wife and my oldest daughter out of going. When the rest of us entered, there was one spot where you could see a long way down, but other... More

This was a beautiful cave. The staff were extremely friendly and informative. Not too long of a tour which is great, as it is a little chilly in the cave. I think its great that they allow you to see how many steps you must take to get to bottom of cave and allow people to get a refund before tour... More

This seems to be a family ran attraction and the guide did a fine job with my group. Our group only consisted of about 10 people so this made the tour more intimate than what occurs at some other caves. There are many steep steps so if you have any problems going up or down steps, this tour is not... More
