When we arrived, the President's were shrouded in heavy low clouds. Several visitors turned around disgusted commenting that it wasn't fair that they came so far and failed to see the monument. We waited 30 minutes and the clouds lifted. The "revealing of the monument was awe inspiring. The crowds were down, and that was great. I was emotionally moved... More

This was a dream come true for me to actually see Mt. Rushmore with my own eyes in person. I was actually in Bismarck for business and had an extra day of free time. Accidentally I found out I was only 5 hours away from this monument to America. Since I was alone I wasn't sure how I would accomplish... More

The Mount Rushmore Black Hills Gold showroom and factory are co-located in a building on Rt 16 just south of Rapid City. During the first day we visited the showroom there was a sign indicating factory tours were offered at 0815, 0915, 1015, etc. Since we had other sightseeing plans that day we went back the following morning to make... Something I think every America should see and it is surround by the beautiful Black Hills. You don't really need more than 30 minutes here.

It is three miles from downtown Rapid City. If you would like to see how gold and silver jewelry is created, this is a great tour. It takes approx. 30 minutes. Call to find out what time the tour is offered.

Went to the factory with a group of 44 people. They only take a max of 12 on the factory tour so it took 4 groups to go through the factory tour. Waiting around the showroom seemed like an eternity - unless you were hot to buy, and some did. For the rest of the group it was a bit... More

3rd visit . Everyone should go see this wonderful piece of American history. So worth it. But I will say the Crazy Horse statue is much more impressive. Know this will not be finished in our life time it is a must see American Icon. Loved it.

My wife and I went to see the tour on August 27,2014 about 9:00 am and they said they had a bus tour and said they would try to get us in with the group. They were not able to get us in with that tour and we asked if we could get in with the next scheduled tour. They... More

This was a great *free* tour of a gold factory. You'll learn what makes Black Hills Gold, as well as how they make their jewelry. You'll be taken through the factory and get to see employees actually working on different pieces at each stage of the process. Tour takes about a half an hour. In a flyer I picked up... More
