Over a span of 14 years, 360 goldminers-turned-craftsmen carved a rough granite mountain into a polished national treasure, known today as Mount Rushmore. Today, in dozens of intricate steps, our craftspeople carry on this tradition of quality and excellence with every piece of Mt. Rushmore Black Hills Gold and diamond jewelry. There are many steps involved in the handcrafting of a single delicate design. Each piece is cast, shaped, ground, polished, soldered, cleaned, wriggled and engaved by our skilled artisans.

Take a fascinating FREE tour through our jewelry factory to watch up-close and learn the details of how gold jewelry is made. During the tour you'll see the ancient process of lost-wax casting and how diamonds are cast in molten gold! Tours are arranged to fit your schedule and we're conveniently located on your way to Mount Rushmore!

Mt Rushmore is only a short drive from Rapid City it can be seen from the highway as you approach there is parking and easy access to the stone president's and photography is also very easy you just have to take into acountant what it must have been like to carve it back in the those days .

I was disappointed that the Gold Factory didn't have anything unique, just the regular things you see all over. Flowers and leaves made of the different golds adorning a watch face or ring band, etc. I had hoped for a treasure. We were there on a Sat. so the tour was not operating. The staff were all very very nice... More

I've waited YEARS to finally make it to Rushmore. It was a great experience knowing someone would make that type of effort to praise the office of the President, and the great nation that is America. You should incorporate hiking and other activities into your adventure. The actual viewing is brief. Stop at Sturges to take in the sights and/or... More

If you like black hills gold jewelry (like my wife does) OR you enjoy seeing and learning about the industrial/manufacturing processes used today (think: How Its Made) this is a good way to spend an hour or so. One suggestion: If you make the bargain of wife looking at jewelry while husband goes on tour, this could be the most... More

So I think the name is totally misleading. People unfamiliar with jewelry, or the area (like myself) probably think that this is jewelry made from gold found in the Black Hills. I mean all I heard on my trip was about all the gold brought out of the area. In all actuality, Black Hills Gold is a style of jewelry,... More

Did not take the tour into the work area, but were able to observe jewelry makers at work through large windows in the jewelry store showroom. An interesting video on how they make the wax casting of the jewelry and then pour molds of gold. The history of the grapes and leaf motif was interesting as well. Felt like kind... More

Got here on a Saturday, so missed factory tour. Watched a video tour, and it was interesting. They have lots of beautiful jewelry and at a decent prices.

I have seen Rushmore 15 times and it never gets old. This time we decided to see the night presentation. It starts at 9 pm and is heavily attended. The 45 min program starts with a 10 min talk from a ranger. I could have done without this, not the greatest. Then a 20 minute movie shown on the screen... More

took this tour today 7/19/2015, our tour guide was Karen "Care Bear". She is an excellent tour guide, very, very knowledgeable. She gave us great recommendations of things to see outside our tour and gave us advance information about the sights we were seeing as we came to the sight. This tour is worth every penny and you will not... More
