I am not sure why but this did not move me nearly as much as the photos. I love the history of the site and what the four men mean for our country. However, for me this is much better seen in pictures.

Mt. Rushmore, an American icon, is an attraction that everyone recognizes. However, when you are lucky enough to view it in person, it is quite an experience. I expected to be impressed, of course. However, upon entering, Mt. Rushmore is framed by an archway of flags from all 50 states. There is an outdoor amphitheater that enables you to sit... More

Although the parks were still closed because of the government shutdown, we were fortunate that the roads out of Rapid City had been cleared of snow and that we were able to drive past the national memorial to the past presidents. Our driver practically crawled past the memorial, so we were able to view this famous rock sculpture in some... More

Impressive to see and learn how this was created and how they continually maintain it. Nice trail but very, very busy! There is a separate fee even if you have the annual National Parks pass but worth it. To be honest, one of my favorite pics and view of it was before we even entered into the park.

Awe inspiring views. A national monument that all 9 of us enjoyed, age 8 through 65. Bear Country and Crazy Horse were nice too.

Went to S Dakota for the buffalo round-up and got stuck when a friend back out on me. So walked to the factory across from my hotel. Got in for the last tour of the day. It was amazing how rings are made from start to fishing. Plus toward the end noticed all the gold on the floor, should have... More

Mt. Rushmore is amazing! It is so beautiful and it gave me such a sense of pride in being an American. Their is a musuem there with interesting historical information regarding the building and the history of Mt. Rushmore from start to finish. There is a walkway with the flags of all fifty states on the columns list each state... More

If possible visit in AM for the best picture taking. The sun shines on the carvings, and makes the best presentation. In the PM, the sun is behind, and pictures are not as good. But, if PM is when you visit, you will not be disappointed. The carvings are magnificent, and leave you in awe. There are many exhibits, which... More

Factory closed on weekends--only a video available. Store is a tourist trap designed to make you spend money--many items are made overseas! Definitely not recommended :( Some of the reviews on this are not accurate--they are trying to describe the real Mt Rushmore!

Rushmore...see the 4 great presidents that made America a great nation, watched the film on how it was made by great architects and workers, took pics of all the old machines and tools, and took a long walk along the trail at the foot of...
