To some, we are a Native American art gallery; to others, we are a trading post reminiscent of days gone by. On the corner of 6th Street and Main in downtown Rapid City, Prairie Edge stands two stories high and stretches out for half a block as a brick, wood, and glass storefront that has been restored to its original 19th century glory. Inside, the hardwood floors and polished cabinetry bring to mind the spirit of the Old West, while the distinct smell of sweetgrass and soft sound of a Lakota flute evoke the mystique of the Plains Indian culture.

The art and pieces in this store are AMAZING!!! However the prices are not for the average traveller- I found a GORGEOUS custom dining room table- it was priced at over $14000 (yes I didn't forget a zero)!!! $400 purses, yes there were some cheaper stuff- however it was even cheaper at Wall drugs! Worth coming in and walking around-... More

One of the best stores in town for unique items. Items can also be pricey depending on what you are looking for. Lots of Native American artwork.

Prairie Edge is a store that surpasses other stores that sell Native American artistry. We spent over two hours looking at the beautiful crafts, books and listening to CDs. We could have easily spent another hour there. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The artistry is truly top quality and of deep meaning. The store is large. There is... More

Really cool stuff, some made by local artists. Fun things to see, such as native american art crafts and cultural items. Kind of spendy.

The craftmenship is wonderful. Some of the items are a little expensive. They have art work, books, just about something for everyone.

I live in the same town as Prairie Edge and it's my all-time favorite shop...hands down! The building itself is beautiful. The gift area is full of unique pieces. There's a book store with amazing books. The jewelry....the drums... but the art gallery in the upper level...I could spend an hour or more up there and be happy. This place... More
