There are many wineries around Hill City, but Prairie Berry is by far the best and has set the example for what the others are trying to attain. The inside of the tasting room is beautifully built and allows you to feel as though you have stepped into another part of the country. The wine servers are very professional and... More

I had never been to a winery or even a wine tasting before. I had a great time at the winery. The staff was very helpful and made it all the more enjoyable.

We went for wine tasting. The staff was so nice and shared stories of the wine so that you understood how and why the wine came to be! My husband and I loved it! We came home with 6 bottles of wine! You have to try the Ruby RedAss and the one with elderberry in it! My 2 favorites! We... More

My wife and I frequently take our guests to visit Prairie Berry Winery just outside of Hill City. This place has become one of the Black Hills primary attractions. There is a large variety of wines for most everyone's pallet. Each individual has the opportunity to taste the wine before purchase. Some of the wines are seasonal and some are... More

Stopped here after visiting other local winery. They do give free wine tasting so that was a plus. The wines where not to my liking but did find a wine worth buying. Prices of wine are expensive for a local wine. They do have a large selection of food and treats so we had the cheese cake. It was delicious!... More

Nice March day and the Brianna is back in stock. Worth a trip on a nice day in western South Dakota. Cheese plate and charcuterie plate with Brianna is hard to beat. Can't rate 5 as they have a Riesling but not available to taste.

Anytime we are out for a drive or ride in the general area of Hill City we make the stop at Prairie Berry. Tastings are free, small, but free. The wines are good, pick your favorite, then grab some cheese and sit on the patio. Enjoy the smells, the sun, and of course your wine and cheese. Always check to... More

The title says it all... free wine tasting. Done and done. You get to pick 5 of the wines on their wine list to sample for free. They have a very wide selection, so you're sure to find something that you enjoy! Plus, they are always adding new wines. Make sure to try the food there too! It's delicious. I... More
