I have been stopping in here for almost 8 years now. I am so happy to see that they have finally expanded into more variety of dry red wines! The fruity table wines are also good as well. I would recommend Red @$$ Rhubarb or Poker Face for the not so serious wine drinker. There is literally something for everyone... More

We live in the wine country of southwestern Michigan and have five wineries within five miles of our home. So we have access to some quality wines. We were very pleasantly surprised when we took the 1880"s dinner train ride in Hill City to discover how good the wines of South Dakota are. Some of my favorites were the Red... More

I really enjoyed Prairie Berry Winery, as husband and friends. We stopped on the recommendation of a local liquor store - they told us they bottle their own wine, one of the few in the area. The varieties of grape vs. fruit based wines was perfect for all types of wine drinkers. The winery offers free tasting for up to... More

My wife and I were hungry, saw a sign for this winery, decided to stop. Glad we did. We had sandwiches to eat, which were very good. We ate on the patio, which offered a beautiful view. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The building is very nicely designed, outside and inside. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. My wife and... More

I really enjoyed Prairie Berry Winery as did my non-wino husband. The varieties of grape vs. fruit based wines was perfect for all types of wine drinkers. The winery offers free tasting for up to five varietals per person; the staff was friendly and great at explaining the wines. After sipping, we strolled around the shop to pick up a... More

We stopped at Prairie Berry because of the billboard ad.The thought of rhubarb wine sounded good. There is an extensive menu to choose from, very well labeled as to the different types of wine. They were very knowledgable and helpful. I tried 5 different wines- rhubarb was my favorite

This was the first winery that my husband and I went to in Hill City. It was kind of crowded and only two employees were working the tasting bar. One of them was helping about four couples at a time, the other one had a harder time with multitasking and was only helping one or two couples at a time.... More

Prairie Berry Winery is a hidden treasure. You are greeted at the door and invited to step to the bar area to enjoy wines of your choice. The wine labels are hilarious and the staff was friendly and helpful. When you are next in the Black Hills of South Dakota be sure to stop at Prairie Berry Winery.
