Ok I booked this not knowing what to expect- it turned out to be the hardest, most exhilirating, and exciting thing I've done on any of my travels! Regardless of my inexperience Daryl made me feel good and safe about what I was doing- case in point if Daryl reads this and remembers my 'tarzan' swing off the final climb... More

If You have ever, even, Thought about Rock Climbing (or if You've Climbed indoors, or up a tree...) You NEED to spend some Time Climbing with Daryl & Cheryl and their Guides at Sylvan Rocks Climbing. The Needles of the Black Hills is a "World-Class" Rock Climbing location. The Climbing Guides at Sylvan Rocks are Wold Class, too. They have... More

This was one of the best days our family has ever had together. Our guide, Chris, was fantastic - experienced, patient, kind, and a great coach. Our family had only climbed indoors previously with the exception of our 13 year old daughter who has some experience on rock. Chris got us all comfortable and we worked our way up to... More

My husband, 24 year old son and I climbed Devils Tower with Cheyenne as our guide. Darryl at Sylvan Rocks set up our climb. Our B&B host at Devils Tower Lodge said Cheyenee was the best guide around for DT, and I thought he was exaggerating, but after climbing with him, I can't imagine having a better guide. Excellent equipment,... More

We did a 6 hour climbing session with a Sylvan Rocks guide, and it was perfect. It really is a full 6 hours, because it's only a 5 minute walk to the climbing from the meeting place. Our guide not only took us on great routes, but also taught both of us quite a bit about outdoor climbing. It was... More

This was a great way to introduce my 14 year old and eight year old to rock climbing :-) Our guide (sorry I knew I would forget your name) was very patient with my children. It was a great activity for all of us. The school communicated ahead of time and sent information indicating-when, where, and what to bring. They... More

Thanks to our guide Tony and the rest of the crew at Sylvan, my family had a wonderful climbing experience in Custer State Park. Our family of 4 climbed much higher than I expected. Tony was an excellent coach and helped motivate our 5 and 7 year olds to reach beyond what they (and I) thought they could accomplish. Also,... More

Sylvan Rocks "Discover Climbing" was a great choice for the group of us that ranged from experienced climber to "I've tried it in a gym a few times" to "I've never done this before!" The team was very friendly, helpful, professional and safety-conscious. I was very impressed and would climb with Daryl and his team again in future with no... More

This was one of the best things we did at Custer State Park. Jeff was patient with our limited (climbing gym) experience, very encouraging of kids and adults alike, and taught us a lot more about climbing than we knew. He was very concerned with our "safeness" as well as our having a blast climbing the granite around Sylvan Lake.... More
