While traveling across the U.S. We decided to stop in Deadwood. The First Gold was available and it was a great choice. First up- the staff was phenomenal. They were helpful and so welcoming. It was apparent they were proud of their place and rightfully so.They encouraged us to see the town and it was fun to see the restoration... More

When calling around for a room in deadwood, rooms were $50 to $60 more than first gold. We weren't looking for a pool or anything special, just traveling through. Room was a little outdated, but clean and had fridge. Casino was nice, front desk was helpful. Didn't eat at the restaurant.

Good food, good price. We would eat here again. Not to busy for dinner on a weekday. Not a large buffet but what they have is good.

We only had breakfast here, which was a nice buffet and friendly service. The casino portion looked very clean, and a bonus is that it is smoke-free, unlike Las Vegas. There looked to be a large variety of slot machines, but I'm not sure how it compares to other local casinos.

Great rooms, very friendly staff! The hotel is very pet friendly and the rooms are designed to be. My dog drinks by sticking his face in the bowl, trying to capture as much as he can like a pelican and then walking away... Leaving a giant trail of slobber. Thanks to the tile floor clean up was a breeze. Getting... More

I like the rooms, the casino, and the Prime rib buffet!! smoke free casino and they give away money... I only wish the slot machine I was playing had paid off better, but wife won enough to cover what I lost..

Didn't stay at the hotel, but everyone was friendly. It was crowded. I think because it's the first casino you come to. We had fun here and enjoyed our time.

Only stayed one night but loved it. Staff is really friendly, bag got delivered in time to the room. Bed was very comfy and slept like a baby. Bathroom was clean and water temperature was perfect! The breakfast buffet was nice with a lot of choices. They have free shuttle from the hotel to the casino if you don't like... More

They are very attentive and not overly crowded. It still smells of smoke but they no longer allow smoking inside, which is awesome. The buffet is very filling and affordable. Do not think of this as Vegas, it is a small historic town and it costs a lot to continue the upkeep on the old buildings
