Venue was wonderful, food was outstanding, service was great! That's all I know, but if you need a unique place for a reception, this is it. we hosted one, and have been to 2 others and all have been wonderful.

We visited for a day before heading to the Laura Ingalls site in DeSmet. What a fabulous museum! Unique and interesting interactive displays for the kids (ours loved the water area, the farming and sod house) along with some traditional children's museum favorites (art area, grocery store). Our girls (10, 8 & 4) were entertained for 4 hours and wanted... More

The recent trip I made to Brookings was fantastic, The museum was busy with kids visiting from everywhere ( Me from Texas). I was especially interested to find how they remodled the building which included my OFFICE for ten years. I was teaching Jr. High girls and elementary physical education in Brookings (1953-64). Those were good years. My office WAS... More

If you want to see kids come alive, with all the activities provided, this is that place. A great thing for families, and easily accessable and also has a restaurant in it, which is very god.

I've been here 4 times... with kids aged from 9 months to 8 years. Usually we have a couple of grandparents in tow too. It's great for all ages; very fun to run around and explore! I think there are plenty of different rooms and activities. The adults can sit at the counter of the "coffee shop" while the kids... More

Always a great place to take the kid. Plenty of things to do. Usually they have special events for kids on the weekends. It is always something the kids will enjoy. A very friendly staff. A small cafe to eat at as well. The kids will stay busy for hours!!

Love visiting here with my three year old. Whether in the winter or summer, there is never downtime for your child because of all the fun things they can play and pretend with. Imaginations soar at each center from being a mechanic to shopping at the grocery store to traveling back in time to live in a homestead. The water... More

In all fairness, the front desk did warn us that there would be several field trips going on the day we went. Unfortunately, we were only in town for 1 day so we had to do it that day. The kids were out of control and loud. They definitely need to limit the number of students allowed for field trips... More

This is our 5th time visiting the Children's Museum. This time was a class field trip for our kindergartner. Our 5 year old enjoys the "Grocery Store" and "window painting" the best. They have a restaurant for snacks or lunch & the staff is always very patient & kind. We will definitely return again!

This museum is for children and adults alike. It is fun for the adults to watch the kids explore new things. The exhibits are well done and let children learn and grow. The restaurant is a bright and cheery atmosphere, with great food, interesting choices for everyone.
