The guided tour really made this come alive for my boys (13 and 9). This is a gem to visit in the area. I don't think my boys will ever forget this. I know I wont! Be sure to have cash with you - its $6 for adults and $5 for children and they do not take credit cards.

Vistited the museum with my two grandsons. The man (can't remember his name) took us on a guided tour of the museum and explained each of the artifacts in great detail. Even allowed my grandsons to hold the leg shackles that they had on display. They were surprised at the weight of them and how a person could work all... More

We enjoyed the young couple very much; however displays were limited and duplicative of those found in larger venues. We felt our limited time was better spent at the nearby airfield, used to train Tuskegee Airmen.

This was the best part of the trip. I enjoyed reading about the history and learning about it. It's a great idea for future field trips.

I enjoyed this museum, it is an important place to visit and story to tell, however since I visited it has been difficult to find the the place open on a set schedule - this may have improved - but just be sure before you go. Location is in the heart of Walterboro, exhibits are enhanced by the tour/curator. Plan... More

This is a very historical place in Walterboro run by two very dedicated individuals who wish to tell the story to the world. Sadly I feel they are not getting the support they deserve , I am glad we went , for they have truly taken the time and energy to make a difference in this very quaint and up... More
