The walk along the paved walk ways made it fairly easy for older visitors. Young children love to show the different plants, trees and small animals. The only shortfall is the parking spaces. A great place to spend time with grandchildren.

This is a beautiful area that was begun by a generous couple. It costs nothing to visit. If you'd like serenity in the middle of the day in the middle of town, this is the place. Various trees and plants are identified so that it is also a learning experience. We have many plants in our yard that we purchased... More

10 acres of peaceful woodland trails, ponds, picnic areas. This public garden also hosts weddings and other events. You can buy the plants you see in the gardens, as they propagate and sell them. Great place for a morning or afternoon walk, or to have a picnic.

I've been here many times over the years. It's a great place to read a book, stroll and relax, enjoy a nice walk with your loved one, take the kids to explore, take pictures and the list goes on. I have 2 kids that have graduated so far and I've taken both of them here for pictures. We made some... More

when visiting spartanburg, never, ever leave without checking this out... before his death, mr. hatcher always had a kind word to visitors... never too busy, he would always stop to say hello and ask if there were any questions about any plants...he left a divine legacy for everyone to enjoy...

This is a nice place to go to get away from everything for a short while. My family visits Hatcher Garden several times a year and it is always beautiful and peaceful. It has nice walking trails, which have recently been redone.

What a great place to get away from everything for a few minutes or a few hours. What a gift to the people of Spartanburg. A treat for plant lovers as they have a great selection of all sorts of things that do well in this area. Quite a few places to sit down along the paths. I would not... More

Very beautiful place. Great for a quick walk to enjoy nature. I'd recommend on a early fall afternoon. Unfortunately, no pets allowed but I understand.
