Great gardens

Nice place to spend an afternoon if you are in Spartanburg. Walking trails, lots of water, restrooms. Parking a little tight.

Small, not able to drive thru, must park and walk. Can see most form entrance, free and the price is right.

We stopped here en route to Kiawah Island as a rest stop. Nice variety of walkways both paved and unpaved. A few of the natural walkways weren't kept up well which was disappointing. Saw a pretty large snake near the entrance which scared us to death. Wasn't sure what type...didn't really care. Wish it would have identified the vegetation better,... More

A lovely, quiet spot in the middle of town. There are lots of picnic spots in the preserve, and lots of birds singing their hearts out for you. Flowers will bloom off and on all summer, but winter and fall are nice here too. It is well maintained. I used the walking paths to help me destress from work. Lovely... More

10 acres of gorgeous woodlands, ponds, waterfalls, gazebos, etc. There was so much to see...be sure to wear your walking shoes. Nicely paved main trail and off the main path gravel trails take you all around this beautiful garden.

The emphasis is not on garden but on woodland preserve. They have done a miraculous job of turning a litter-strewn gully into a nature preserve, pervaded by silence among peaceful walks, streams and ponds. There are numerous spots to sit and contemplate on the 8-acre property.

This park is open to the public and is a treasure in Spartanburg. Beautiful walking trails and all kinds of plants and flowers to enjoy. This park is open year round and is worth your attention. Go see it for yourself!

NATURE LOVERS, GARDENERS & ZEN SEEKERS: The love and dedication the Hatchers had for nature, each other and their home in Spartanburg is apparent immediately. The winding pathways lead you by a plethora of beautiful foliage, flowers and other natural beauty. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy a quiet moment or take a picture (or two). There... Visited the garden today and had fun just watching the kids run up and down the trails getting all their energy out. Beautiful place nestled right in Spartanburg. I would highly recommend for a free fun activity.
