Four friend head to Santee Start Park Labor Day weekend for 4 days of R&R. Stayed in one if the large cabins and it was the perfect size for the 4 of us. We fished, road bikes, played tennis and just relaxed. Only 3 cons were not enough fishing piers, the tennis court is horrible(even though we had a fun 3... More

On our way to Charleston and stopped here to kayak. Lovely location. They have boat ramps to help facilitate launching. We kayaked for about 2 hours, and had lunch at one of their picnic tables. Would recommend using google maps to find them, as the directions on the website were a bit sketchy. Easy to get back on the highway... More

Stayed in a lodge next to lake away from others. Great place to fish with kids.Explore around the lake and find the dam, when you read sings about what to do if it is breached it becomes very scary. This really is the great outdoors. At night the woods come to life with all the night creatures.dont leave food out or... More

Stayed in a 35 ft motorhome on site #10. The location on Lake Marion is very nice and close to I-95 - that's the good part. The roads are dirt in the campground and lots of holes so not easy to get around in a motor home. The baths need lots of work. One toilet was like a rocking chair... More

We plan to go back to this park again. It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks (along the I-95) that we have come across in a long time.

Stayed in the pier cabins and it was wonderful. The cabin was a little dated, but very clean. It comes with two bedrooms and a futon that slept six. There is one shared bathroom. There is a kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator, but limited utensils. Being on the pier we had to grill on the shore by... More

This State park in South Carolina (right off of I95) not only has camping, and great fishing on the 110,000 acre lake Marion, but 30 Cabins (rondettes) for rent. 20 of the cabins are in the woods with lake access, and 10 are on a pier in the lake itself. The cabins are excellently appointed (kitchen with big table, living... More

First the good: nice scenery, pretty cypress growing in water, easy access to small towns if you need something.... BUT: Bathrooms rather old and nasty with no soap, and apparently not cleaned often. The campground road loops are atrocious with pot holes for anyone riding through and partic. dragging trailers. Disappointed Rangers did not make a presence as we had... More

We took our son and his friend camping this weekend. The boys are 13 and wanted and outdoor adventure. Most of the park was what I expected. We did not like how close the campsites were but could deal no problem. However, what really bothered me was how close I 95 was to the campground. At night it was all... More
