Driving from Miami to Maryland takes a long time, especially for toddlers. We stopped in Santee and the kids were able to get out, learn a little bit about animal and play on playground at Santee State Park. It was a very relaxed environment.

We camped out here over July 4th weekend last year. Despite waking up to 3 inches of rain in our tent the first night (our fault, not the park's, lol) we had a wonderful time. Great area to cook at and for the kids to play, lots of paths to travel, a swimming hole close by for the boys &... More

Went with my son who is a duck hunter. Stayed in a cabin on a pier at the park so we were literally on the water. Parked our boat right outside our door. We got our reservation for half off due to a slow weekend I guess. It was advertised on Facebook so I booked a weekend. I wish we... More

This is a fairly local park for us and we camp there a lot. There are two campgrounds and we like the smallest one because it is closer to the boat landing and tennis courts. The campground is fairly busy in the summer and really quiet in the fall and winter. There is a lot of people that stay over... More

Stopped to stretch our legs on long drive south. Trails well marked and park is close to I-95. Bathroom of typical state park quality. Staff friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay here at Santee State Park. They have a beautiful WiFi room, as well as games and DVD's you can check out. Nice accommodations. Only negative thing was that it's a apparently duck hunting season and they started shooting out on the lake around 6a.m. one morning! So just keep that in mind when planning your trip.

We have been here several times and always end up seeing different things. The park itself sits on Lake Marion, and features several camping areas and some cabins that sit out on the dock and are AMAZING. There is a bait shop that also sells nick nacks and food items. If you are going to do the lake, there are... More

My two girlfriends and I rented one of the cabins that are available at the park. Every employee that we dealt with was friendly and helpful! The cabins were very clean and had everything we would need to enjoy our weekend: fresh linens, utensils, dishes and glasses, pots and pans. The kitchenette was nicer than many apartment kitchens! And the... More
