Owner description: One of the oldest courses on the Southern Strand, this club offers large greens, and no parallel holes; two characteristics that tend to be absent from many of the modern courses at Myrtle Beach.

Terrible Course! Greens mostly sand. No markers or any layout of holes on hole markers or score card as on most courses I play. Do not mind bunkers, but this course 40% caked down sand/dirt that you drive your carts on and comes into play with your shots, which is ridiculous and STUPID, but cheap for upkeep costs vs grass that... Very confusing ways to get around from hole to hole...Only one washroom facility available. No beer carts. Understandably, as the course is really strewn out amongst a large diverse area. Sand and waste bunkers do stop you losing your golf balls. Staff are very friendly, but the course needs a make-over and a better layout.

I had a great time at the Founders club. Staff was great. Driving in the waste areas really neat and smooth as can be. They are working on marking them so that you can get in and out easier. Greens were terrific. They must have improved since this spring. I see some bad things were written earlier this year. .... More

The natural feel on The Founders Club is well suited to the Pawleys market. Waste bunkers, allowing almost no cart paths, extend the added playability and natural setting. The course has more movement than most at the beach and the use of waste sand adds to the native feel. I enjoyed the fact that it meandered around an older Pawleys... More

I bet that this course in its prime was a great good course but it seems like it hasn't gotten a lot of TLC over the years. Not a lot of regular cart paths, you have to drive around in these large waste bunkers that line the fairway, which actually reminded me of the scene in Terminator 2 where they... More

This layout is odd. You must cross roads between green and the next tee almost every hole. Sometimes the way to the next tee is obscure and you just have to guess if you aren't familiar with the course. On one hole, you actually have to drive down the road a little way. There are a couple of nice holes,... More

After playing Caledonia and Heritage, played Founders for the first time. I'm afraid it will go on my "I've played it once and never need to play it again" list. Nothing wrong with the staff - all pleasant and professional. And the layout is not bad, it just was kind of "scruffy". The greens especially were poor. It has a... More

Played this course during Veterans Tournament and will not return. The course was soaking wet with terrible greens and lots of muddy waste areas to drive around in. Driving range consisted of a couple of mats and large net.

Well, I've never driven in so many waste bunkers to get to a ball on the fairway before. This course is uniquely designed with very little water and LOTS of hard packed sand in waste bunkers. It was ok but almost seemed repetitive after a while. A lot of holes looked like cow pastures with a weird mix of grass... More

I enjoyed this course , first time the rough was sand. Loved the challenge. There was a lot of water trees and bunkers to give you a hard time the staff was friendly and polite... I will play again. Check local papers for coupons ... have fun
