Very friendly staff. We had an awesome paddle on the Peachtree Creek. (Two Hour Cypress Swamp). The tour was very calm and quiet, you could hear the birds and no traffic. Richard was a great guide. Our next trip will be the historic Georgetown tour.

This was our second trip with Black River Outdoors. The first was the Cypress Swamp Tour with Paul and Chris. The second trip was the Salt Marsh with Spaz. It was our first (and second) time kayaking, but all the guides have been fabulous; they made us feel very at ease from the moment we arrived at the sites and... More

Kayaking in Black River was relaxing and very eventful. Our guides went out of their way to show us the wildlife and teach us about the river. They were also very helpful in getting us in and out of the kayaks. A great experience and I definitely would like to do this again and maybe the 4 hour one next... More

My husband and I had a wonderful time - so much so - that we plan to do this every time we go back to the beach. We had never been kayaking before. They were very nice, very helpful and made the experience quite enjoyable.

The trip was absolutely perfect! To start, the instructions from the office were very well done, the guide was at the dock and ready to go fifteen minutes or so early, the guide(Chaz) was exceptional, the weather was exceptional. Chaz is very well versed on the history of the river, the animals, the plants... After a couple minutes, we felt... More

If you're in the Myrtle Beach area, looking for experiences outside the usual beach visits, mini golf, and boardwalk browsing (not that all that isn't great), check out Black River Outdoors Center! They offer tours of varying lengths in several different areas. Our group had a mix of first time paddlers and those with a little more practice, kids and... More

Mandy was our magnificent guide! Funny, knowledgeable, very patient! The pic she posted of us on the site was more than generous as we couldn't get the knack of kayaking very quickly. She made us look like professionals. We saw and held snakes, learned about the egret parents guarding their nests, and also about the slaves descendents that still live... More

Brought a group of 17 high school kids and three chaperones to Georgetown, SC to help construct a house for Habitat for Humanity. Group is from upstate NY, and kids were on Spring Break, anxious for warm weather as we had a tough winter(!). Found Black River Tours online and sent them an email. They responded immediately and set us... More

Fantastic! This was the first time my husband and I kayaked and Spaz and Mandy did a wonderful job explaining everything. They were very knowledgeable and so much fun. Mandy went out of her way to make sure we saw and held as many creatures as she could find. Spaz was a hoot as well! We will definitely book with... More

We took the two hour cypress tour with Mandy and Spaz and it was informative and worth every penny. We saw turtles and birds and snakes and had a nice paddle down the river. It's worth the money and doesn't even seem like two hours. It's an informative paddle and the guides were amazing. The swamp is a nice place... More
