I voted it was a day of fun for all. I take that away. They now charge to park as of summer of 2014, which makes it not worth the trip down. Not one or two dollars but $5 or $6. They have a guy with a golf cart that chases you down, if you turn toward the pier. So... More

$5.00 to park here? What a joke. We parked at a restaurant & walked over, then $1.00 apiece to walk this stinky, bird-poop filled pier. Awful. We stayed a total of 10 minutes. Not worth it.

Went to the pier to check out the fishing and was shocked to find out that it now costs $5.00 to park. it wasn't bad to pay $1.00 to walk the pier but $6.00 is outrages . I like to see if there is any action before I pay to fish from the pier. I will never go back to... More

Springmaid Pier is a great pier to spend time fishing or watching others fish. Almost always have seen sharks swimming and feeding around the end of the pier. The pier is wide and long so it is rarely elbow to elbow and early morning or late evening are great times to just sit and relax. The large swing is always... More

The Springmaid Pier is alot of fun. At night, the grand strand lights are stunning from out on the pier, you can see almost the entire strand. We have seen ocean creatures caught first hand, some of which we weren't sure of what they were. The fishermen we had contact with were happy to share their knowledge of what it... More

After dinner we decided to drive down to the pier near our hotel. We found a parking spot on the street (free). There is a bar and a nice gift shop. There is a dollar charge to get on the pier. We watched the fishermen cast their lines and saw 5 sharks, 3 jellyfish and a stingray. Amazing! Scary to... More
