Great for pier fishing, strolling or just enjoying the view. One of the few Piers that is accessible to the public. Also have restaurant and tackle and souvenir shop on pier.

It is nice to check out the ocean via pier. It has been there for years. There is not much not to like and it was a bit windy on the pier.

Today I visited Spring maid pier and the problems we encountered were there were too many abandoned fishing rods. LOCALS put 2 and 3 rods in the water and they try to fish up and down the pier, using other rods. Management can stop this if they would come out and inform those customers that this is not a good fishing... More

I voted it was a day of fun for all. I take that away. They now charge to park as of summer of 2014, which makes it not worth the trip down. Not one or two dollars but $5 or $6. They have a guy with a golf cart that chases you down, if you turn toward the pier. So... More

$5.00 to park here? What a joke. We parked at a restaurant & walked over, then $1.00 apiece to walk this stinky, bird-poop filled pier. Awful. We stayed a total of 10 minutes. Not worth it.

Not a bad way to spend a dollar to walk along the pier, and talk with the fishermen and see there catches!! My girls loved it!!!!

Went to the pier to check out the fishing and was shocked to find out that it now costs $5.00 to park. it wasn't bad to pay $1.00 to walk the pier but $6.00 is outrages . I like to see if there is any action before I pay to fish from the pier. I will never go back to... More

Springmaid Pier is a great pier to spend time fishing or watching others fish. Almost always have seen sharks swimming and feeding around the end of the pier. The pier is wide and long so it is rarely elbow to elbow and early morning or late evening are great times to just sit and relax. The large swing is always... More

We didnt have much luck with the fishing but the sales people at the fishing store were great. We caught some baby shark, and yes threw them back. The surrounding beach is great.
