This is our favorite pier by far and we visit every trip! The local fisherman are always friendly and allow the kids to watch and touch what they catch. And watching them clean the fish and toss the scales in the water to the Sharks is always a hit with the kids! Experiences we don't get at home!

$1.00 to walk the pier, but worth it. We saw 6 sharks, 2 big rays and tons of jellyfish. People were throwing fish pieces to the sharks to attract them. Also saw a spinner shark jump out of the water. Very cool!

Tackle shop closes too early. Should have some kind of sign saying after certain time fishing is free.

Springmaid Pier available to guests. Other piers in Myrtle Beach charged a fee. We got to walk after our long trip from Atlanta, before tropical storm Ana hit the coast at Myrtle Beach.

This is very well kept pier. Plenty of room, and places to sit down. They even have a couple of big swings to sit on and relax and enjoy the ocean. A lot of people fish there and they have a bait store right there. They have live music in the summer time on the weekends. If you stay at... More

This is a terrific pier! Best place to fish on the beach! The tackle shop is great and the pier is well lit with easy access.

We visit the pier every time we come to Myrtle Beach. Lots of locals fish the pier and it's fun to watch them reel in their catch. We like to fish it too but catch and release while on vacation. ***.WATCH OUT *** when the fishermen/women are cleaning their fish they throw the carcass back into the water and it's... More

Busy pier with fishermen and onlookers out for a stroll. Staff was attentive and friendly. The pier was clean and the gift shop had a decent variety of items.

Goes way out. There's always something to see. Birds on the water, birds on the pier, occasionally dolphin passing by, fishermen casting out and reeling in. A great place to hang out, people, bird and critter watch.
