Where have all the plantations gone - only saw a few homes.

Wasn't what I expected. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. There was a lot of history being told as the plantations are no longer there. We did see a few homes on the... read more

We went on the Waccamaw Lady Pontoon boat. The tour was good... the guide was new but did a good job. Captain Scott was fun, and everything was good... except the seats are too low to be able to see out the window properly..we spent most of the time standing, in order to be able to see what was being... The staff here were very nice and informative. The view from the office was really pretty! We had 3 adults and 5 kids, from 4-11 years in age. Everyone loved it! There was another family that rode with us so the boat was full! We saw a couple of alligators, lots of turtles, and a ton of birds! The captain... More

Plantations are few and difficult to always see. Ride of two and a half hours is way too long. $ 30.00 seems too high for this tour. The boat guides were friendly and informative. The two outside horn speakers cannot be heard when boat is moving in a fast forward motion. Many of the seats on the boat face inward... More

Wasn't what I expected. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. There was a lot of history being told as the plantations are no longer there. We did see a few homes on the PeeDee River where the big old plantation homes are still there....but they are mostly covered with trees. The boat did slow down a few times for pictures... More

My husband and I took the Airboat Tour this morning. There were only four of us on the tour, plus the captain. It was a wonderful experience! We had times when we went along at a good speed, and others when we coasted as the captain explained different historic and geographic points of interest, or pointed out ospreys, snakes, alligator,... Promise of plantations gone unfulfilled. Saw a lot of places that may have been plantations or rice fields years ago, but now just 2 hours of trees and overgrown grass.. No wildlife, no real plantations nothing of interest. Waste of time unless you really like looking at trees. At $30 per person I strongly recommend not taking this tour.

My boyfriend and I had wanted to do the airboat tour, but because we didn't have enough people and the weather didn't end up being too great, we took the 2.5 hour plantation tour. Overall, even with the rain, it was still a beautiful ride, the boat was fully covered so the rain did not bother us at all. The... More

We went on this tour while visiting the Myrtle Beach area recently. According to the brochure, we would be seeing old rice plantations, slave cabins, wildlife etc. What we saw was a lot of trees and grass, a couple turtles, and a house or two. The guide was knowledgeable and the ride was smooth and relaxing, but not a whole... More

My review is the same as others Boring. Sorry, but we had been on an airboat tour in Florida that was outstanding. This was not. The people involved with the tour were excellent. The issue is that there is not much to see. It is nothing more than a boat ride

They advertise plantation river cruise. You will see lots of trees and told about the plantations that existed in that location. We saw one plantation, however I never saw the slave houses and had limited view of house. Didn't see any wildlife. Very expensive for what you got $100 for a family of four to basically look at trees and... More
