Tent camped with a group. Sites were ok. Normal bug and critter situation for a maritime forest. However, restrooms were not cleaned the entire weekend. No toilet paper after Saturday morning. Dumpster overflowing and stinking. (Just as the restrooms were) Raccoons got into beach walk trash cans overnight. Trash everywhere and was not picked up by staff. Complaints and concerns... More

We aren't really a camping family but my wife loved touring atalaya. The castle on site that belonged to Anna Hyatt Huntington. Also the beach here is gorgeous white sand beach away from the crowd. My personal favorite is the marsh that surrounds the park. Plenty of nature walks and trails with wildlife galore. We seen alligators, crabs, oysters, and... More

We visited Huntington Beach State Park while staying at Myrtle Beach. Only about a 30 minute drive south. For $5 per person admission, there are terrific beaches, picnic areas, a fascinating nature center with lots of information, and boardwalk walkways over the marshes with explanatory signs and lots of great birding. We saw Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Falcons, crabs, fish,... More

I almost don't want to give this a good review in the hopes masses will stay away! The beach is broad and nice and not to far from the pavilions and parking lot. We rode our bikes on the internal road and felt save from traffic. It was shaded and had enough turns and things to look at to make... More

I'm not used to paying $52 per night for a campsite with just water/electric, but that is what it cost here. They do have full hookup (not available), so I'm not sure what they cost! The Park does have a beach within walking distance of the campground and boat ramps. The campground was nice too. Good location with things to... More

Don't miss this when you are in Mytle Beach. The beaches are beautiful, the restrooms are clean, there are life guards on duty. And Atalaya Castle is worth a visit. But be aware there is a entrance fee.

The beaches seem untouched by humans. Clean and pristine. Very few people roaming about. I think the $5 per person entry fee keeps some folks away. Fine with me! Don't miss the alligators that line the drive into the beach. Spent an amazing afternoon here. We kayaked and explored the beach. Don't miss it

First time visiting the park. We were in site 112. Electricity 30amp and water. No sewer hookup.some sites do offer full sewer. The sites are not crowded and well shaded. The beach access is easy to get to from all sites. The Free WiFi they advertise is awful we were only two sites away from the antenna and couldn't get... More

We've been going to this beach for over 30 years--it's always well-maintained. Beautiful spot! Wish the state would recognize seniors from other states, though!
