Whenever my husband and I go to Myrtle Beach we always take at least one day to spend here. At only about a fifteen minute drive south of Myrtle Beach it can't be beat. And it's so different from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle beach. The beach there is clean and wide with lots of room so everyone can... More

While resting in the neighborhood, My lady companion had suggested that we consider this option...what SC State has done....Kudos. This estate, left to the care of the State of SC by the Huntingtons have left this and the sibling or rather the crown jewel of their effort while here. FYI, Archer Huntington is the translator of "El Cid". Within the... More

Huntington Beach State Park is beautiful. The trails , the beach, watching the birds. If you want to get back to nature this where to go. Camping is good.

While terrorizing myrtle beach in silent tourist professionalism we opted to hop on down here for some quieter time. And boy did we ever get our nerd on. If you love things that are awesome like birds, fish, chompy the gator, big birds, fast birds, nature, nature hikes, bugs, slithery things, small birds, and some of the coolest park rangers... More

A beautiful unspoiled area. Beautiful natural beach with clean restrooms. The walk way has a great variety of herons. The nature center had a variety of native animals. They even had nesting eagles. Well worth admission. Bring your camera. Great place for a picnic.

We walked the boardwalk into the salt marsh at low tide and could see the oyster beds and corals. The amount of birds was phenomenal! Snowy egrets, Blue Herons, Pelicans, Ospreys, Tricolor Herons, Wood Storks, Bald Eagles. We walked around the old castle which was pretty interesting and then walked out onto the beach for a stroll.

We loved this place and well worth the admission price. Pristine beaches to walk for miles, nature trails, and marsh walk. Informational plaques along the way explained and showed pictures of wildlife, plant life etc. native to the marsh. A learning center provides more to see with lectures and a ranger on site..

This park has seawater that turns into brackish water and then freshwater. Every imaginable bird comes here as they migrate. The alligators are plentiful with amazing walking paths.
