Quiet, beautiful beach. Love the walking trails, picnic areas and quiet beach with showers. Lots of free room to let kids play. Playgrounds and camp grounds.

If you have a camera and love to take pictures of birds and marshes then this is the place. Fantastic bird watching, great facilities, and a very well run organization. This is one of the best parks I've visited.

Easy to locate off Highway 17 in the North Litchfield area of Pawley's Island. Note that there is an entry fee of $5 per adult and $3 per child. This is a state park with three ecosystems - the low-country forest, the marshes, and the beach -- with a castle and a campground thrown in for good measure. Loaded up... More

We watched sunset here and it is GORGEOUS! We were there one evening during xmas vacation. No one on the beach and the colors were just amazing. One of the best beaches we were told and I do believe it's better than myrtle beach for it being quiet and no commercial stuff going on.

We visit the Park at least twice a year if only to see how many alligators are in the lagoon. Atalaya is worth walking through. The facilities at the park are pristine, the beach is the most glorious stretch of sand along the 26 miles here. Love to wander along the boardwalks in the salt marshes and see the local... More

Beautiful park with many varieties of nature to take in...beach, marsh walk, freshwater pond, walking trails. Each trip is a new adventure as new species migrate in and out. A great place to bring your camera, your dog, your bike, or your kids/grandkids.

Nice beach - although the day we visited was cold and rainy. Did not see any alligators out. The nature center is a good one! Very informative - and the staff explains all the exhibits. Go at feeding time! There is a touch tank as well.

You have to pay to enter the park but can cycle on its roads and on the beach itself at low tide. There is a free kayak launch north of the park and the marsh is a great place to paddle. Be sure that the tide is close to high.
