This beach is across from Brookgreen Gardens. It has facilities but not as many as Myrtle Beach State Park. There was plenty of parking. However, the walk from the lot to the beach is a bit of a hike. If you don't like walking that far try Myrtle Beach State Park. Lifeguards were on duty from around 9:00am till 5:00pm.... More

Huntington is great for beach goers, campers, and nature lovers. The beach is beautiful without buildings in sight. The marsh is a perfect place to birdwatch and if your lucky you might see an alligator or two.

We stayed here on site 130 for 2 nights last weekend. It was a quick trip for a lacrosse tournament, so we didn't do all the normal camping activities that we would have liked. The park is beautiful. The beaches were nice...not too crowded either, but we were at the beach only for a couple hours at 5pm. We did... More

We will go back when we have more time. So much to see and great place to see alligators. We saw an alligator on the walkway from Atalaya that goes toward Brookgreen gardens. Atalaya is very beautiful !!! Beach would be great place to spend the day!

We come to Myrtle beach because we life the touristy stuff but I hate the beach there. It always seems rough and hard on the feet. I prefer N Myrtle for the beach. My brother-in-law suggested this time that we go to Huntington Beach. I was not disappointed. The beach was clean and smooth. You did have to pay to... More

Looks like a great place to camp. Quick access to the beach and necessary amenities for camping. If my kids were still living at home, this would definitely be a place to come. My visit was just part of a day trip. There is a huge man-made marsh. Lots of birds and a couple of alligators popped up long enough... More

We love the beach and facilities along with plenty of parking. The beach is long but narrow at high tide. The beach is kept really clean and it has a wooden walk from the parking lot to the beach edge. Near the beach they have grills and picnic tables under trees or pavilions. They also have a ranger station and... More

We were staying at Myrtle Beach State Park so we did not have to pay admission to get into the park. We visited this park because we wanted to see the alligators and tour Atalaya. We enjoyed both. We saw alligators as soon as we entered the park. These are wild unconfined alligators. One crossed the road while we were... More

Clean and beautiful. Well maintained and the beaches are away from high rises and traffic. Education center was nice and docks are well maintained.

If you cannot keep your adrenaline level maxed out while you are vacationing the Myrtle Beach area, travel south to Huntingdon Beach State Park in Murrell's Inlet. There you will find a pristine beach with NO condos, bars or amusement piers. Ocean, sand and tree lined walking paths are the main attractions of this oasis. Off the beach itself there... More
