Bring your dog for a walk on the beach, in the wooded areas or on the boardwalk. You may see and photograph bald eagles, alligators and many other birds. Learn the history of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington and their gift to the area through a reasonable priced tour of their home, Atalaya. Faciilities for picnicing, changing, etc.

I love the fact that this place is untouched by modernism. A beautiful castle to take pics at, and lots of parking!

Great viewing area for gators up close and birds. Wonderful educational exhibits and programs. Lots of open beaches without houses. Great roads for biking.

Beautiful beach, great camping, lots of nature and no high rise hotels. Quiet and peaceful with local history and beautiful flowers, birds and alligators.

This is my second time visiting Huntington Beach State Park. If you enjoy a more peaceful and scenery beach away from Myrtle Beach, then this is the place to go. It's a $5 admission for each adult, but well worth it! We saw many exotic plants, birds, and a few alligators. The beach is not crowded and you have plenty... More

Beautiful marsh lands with boardwalks from which the numerous birds and wildlife can be seen. It was a little too windy for the beach, so we stayed on the causeway and boardwalks. 5 inexperienced Ospreys tried unsuccessfully to get fish. Finally one caught a large one and flee into a tree. We were able to photograph them, the Eagles by... More

Easy parking, good facilities, beautiful beach! The beach was pristine. We went on a Wednesday morning during spring break week and had no trouble parking near the access. There were lots of families and seniors but plenty of room. We will be going back!

We started out at the Atalaya Castle. It was really neat. Hearing and reading the history was pretty cool too! The kids had a great time running around trying to lose each other and making up stories about who lived here and what they did! We then went to the beach. It was overcast and started to rain about an... More

We stayed in spot 120, a 5 min walk to the beach access. Beautiful shady, private back in spot. Short walk to bathrooms which were always clean. Only complaint is very limited hot water for showers. The causeway is incredible for alligator and wild bird viewing, the Huntington's summer castle is beautiful and the hiking trails well maintained. The staff... More
