While visiting the Charleston area, we took some time to stop by Shem Creek. There are a few restaurants there but we did not eat there. The kids loved walking the boardwalk along the water. There were several shrimp boats coming back in while we were there and we saw probably 10-15 dolphins playing in the water. Neat little stop... More

We walked the boardwalk every day. We saw boats coming and going. There are interesting facts along the way to the end of the boardwalk.. We saw several different kinds of birds, tiny little crabs ( I think they were fiddler crabs) a few dolphins came thru while we were there. At end of walkway, you can sit under a... More

Until recently, the only way to get out on to Shem Creek was by boat or renting a kayak or paddle board. Now, everyone can take a leisurely walk of about 10 minutes on the new pier and see the creek from a whole new perspective. You will meet fishermen, families with children and dogs and their owners. We have... More

The boardwalk through the marsh and creeks is wonderful, the views are fabulous. We watched the Bottle Nose swim in the creek and the shrimp and sporting boats. The little ones liked chasing the crabs.

Just a great place to wander through the marsh. You can see shrimp boats, people kayaking, there are beautiful homes across the creek. We didn't eat here, but there are restaurants. Great place for children to walk on the boardwalk.

Shem Creek park is relatively new. It is a picturesque view of the Shrimp boats as the come and go into Shem Creek. The pathway winds thru the salt marsh and come to an end with a wonderful pier and floating dock. Its a great place for a romantic sunset walk or to just take the kids to sit and... More

We decided to eat at Vickerys on a whim and noticed a long Boardwalk while we were eating. So after we ate we took the path and were pleasantly surprised. The stroll out to Shems creek had all sorts of wildlife although we never did see any Dolphins:(. Watching the fishing boats come in and kayakers and paddle boarders was... More

Stopped here on our way back into Charleston from the Isle of Palms where there are good beaches. Crossing over the bridge we swung left into the large car park and drove through it to the end close to Vickery's Bar and Grill and found a parking space which was not the property of one of the commercial establishments. One... More

Very peaceful, great view and beautiful sunsets. You can see local fisherman here and it is much quieter than the mount pleasant pier by comparison.
