If you are in Mount Pleasant you must take time out to walk around Shem Creek. Enjoy the wildlife and peaceful scenery. Make sure you go early could get crowded. I love the scene.

Our hotel (Shem Creek Inn) was right next to this park. One of the nicest intercostal parks I have seen. Lots of walk ways through the marshes all the way out to Charleston Bay and places to sit and even picnic.

We enjoyed the easy boardwalk through the marsh and along the creek with an abundance of birds and wildlife. The shrimp boats were interesting on the other side of the water, but we found ourselves looking out into the harbor and across the marsh, and enjoying the peaceful beauty of coastal Carolina. You might not spend more than an hour... More

If you just want a nice stroll, park here and go on a walk on a raised boardwalk through the marsh. Depending on the tide, you will see interesting critters below! Walk all the way to Shem Creek where you will be treated to dolphins swimming by the shrimp boats coming to dock! You can also rent kayaks and paddle... More

Nice stroll on the Pier. Didn't eat at any of the restaurants but the view of the harbor was beautiful and peaceful.

When I photograph birds, the last thing I want is to be under-lensed--meaning the birds are tiny specks. At Shem Creek--I found myself wanting LESS lens much of the time. When the shrimp boats come in, seafood isn't all they bring along for the ride. Egrets, Pelicans, Herons and gulls flock to the pier and the boats and couldn't care... More

This is a short, but excellent walk through the estuary banks of Shem Creek. Parking is free and so is admission. The views are beautiful, both seaward and across the banks. Working shrimp boats glide through the channel.

We enjoyed walking on the Bridge in Shem Creek Park specially at sunset and a full moon night. You see all the fishermen boats at a distant. It is worth the visit.

This is a great place for relaxing and even better to get some really good pictures. You can see shrimp boats, fishing boats, and beautiful sites of the marshes.
