Shem Creek park is relatively new. It is a picturesque view of the Shrimp boats as the come and go into Shem Creek. The pathway winds thru the salt marsh and come to an end with a wonderful pier and floating dock. Its a great place for a romantic sunset walk or to just take the kids to sit and... More

We decided to eat at Vickerys on a whim and noticed a long Boardwalk while we were eating. So after we ate we took the path and were pleasantly surprised. The stroll out to Shems creek had all sorts of wildlife although we never did see any Dolphins:(. Watching the fishing boats come in and kayakers and paddle boarders was... More

Stopped here on our way back into Charleston from the Isle of Palms where there are good beaches. Crossing over the bridge we swung left into the large car park and drove through it to the end close to Vickery's Bar and Grill and found a parking space which was not the property of one of the commercial establishments. One... More

Very peaceful, great view and beautiful sunsets. You can see local fisherman here and it is much quieter than the mount pleasant pier by comparison.

The views are beautful. The Sunsets are even more gorgeous in summer months. There is so much to see and do by the creek albeit eateries on the water...paddle boating on the creek or a sunset cruise. Even a stroll along the boardwalk down to the gazebo is relaxing and an opportunity to see nature and some wildlife in its... More

We went to the park in late afternoon and it was so peaceful walking out into the marsh area. We watched boats coming in. There were several dolphins. We ate at a restaurant that had views of Shem Creek and watched several dolphins entertain. It was fun watching the paddle boarders and people in kayak's. A nice way to enjoy... More

We walked after eating at Vickery's. It was a beautiful way to walk off dinner. Our toddler loved seeing the birds, boats, and a few dolphins go by. It was a wonderful slice of Charleston/Mt. Pleasant life.

My husband and I love seeing boats come in and watching the sunset from the marina. Shem park offers a great place for an evening stroll. It is very welll kept with lots of parking and some historical facts as well, We visited twice while staying in Mt Pleasant!

We went here right before sunset after a very hot day and the cool breeze was so nice! The parking was free and there is a well lit bathroom area right at the front of the park. You can walk along and see the water life and boats coming and going on the creek and also people fishing.

A must do. Outdoor seating at Vickery's for dinner on 4th of July has good views of boats enjoying the sun and water, and the 9pm fireworks. Get there early and bring a sweater for a/c. Saw dolphins frolicking in Shem Creek while eating off the back of Red's Ice House for lunch. R&B's had good seafood pasta. GPS parking... More
