My husband and I signed up just a few days in advance while visiting Charleston mid October 2015. We have only kayaked a few times, but I really wanted to see the natural beauty of Charleston up close. We went on a 2 hour guided tour, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Very glad that we made time... More

My girlfriends and I chose Nature Adventure Outfitters to go kayaking and they were unbelievably wonderful! To start, I wasn't supposed to go, so I didn't have proper shoes. They let me borrow some for free! And let us use their sun tan lotion! Who does that anymore? The tour itself was outstanding. Tillman is a doll! Very knowledgable, super... More

We were hesitant to go due to bad storms the previous night. We were assured that the morning kayak trip would be smooth and they were right. They've been doing this for many years. We trusted their expertise and had a great time!

Ben asked me to help him out with the odds and ends of a team building event for a group of MUSC residences and I was happy to oblige. The day started off with close to 40 young adults arriving at Nature Adventures and while the kayaks were being prepared, Ben and I did some preliminary personality games and teamwork... More

My fiance and I did the two hour kayak tour through Shem Creek, the marsh and to Bird Island. We spent our morning paddling and learning about Charleston's history and wildlife. We saw dolphins and hundreds of birds including pelicans, egrets, marsh hens and others. Ed also showed us several of the historic fossils that he has found throughout his... More

I really loved our tour of the blackwater swamp outside of Charleston. If you are driving from Wilmington, it's the perfect thing to do on the way out of the city while driving back north. Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, and made the trip both fun and informative. She told us all about the ecosystem, history of the area,... More

The trip got 1 hr delayed and we waited in the sun. We had to pay $4 just to apply sunscreen and they didn't even offer a discount even though the trip was 1 hour late. One of the two guide was very friendly and informing, but the other talked for such a long time about irrelevant things.

I participated on the Wambaw Creek blackwater kayaking tour with Teresa. Perfect! Prepare to learn about wildlife, see centuries old Cypress trees, and discover how the tidal creeks were used in the American Revolution. The group was a mix of experienced paddlers and first-timers. Teresa (and the waters!) remained calm and helpful for the entire journey. 100% recommend this distinct... More

I had the pleasure of taking a kayak tour on Shem Creek and Charleston Harbor. Nature Adventures Outfitters is extremely experienced, organized, and concerned for all customers. They explain the basic techniques, help you in the craft, and push you into the water. They focus on safety to mitigate issues. Our tour guide ED was wonderful. He explained a lot... More

Thank you so much for your kind review. Ed is one of our senior guides and is wonderful. So glad you enjoyed your tour. Feel free to come back and explore the blackwater areas we paddle in. You can also ask for Ed to be your guide on those as well. Kathie Livingston More

My friends and I went over Labor Day weekend hoping to go paddle boarding. We made reservations and were excited to get on the water! Unfortunately when we arrived, one of the group started to feel sick and wasn't able to go. Not wanting to split up the group, we all decided that we'd cancel our reservation right there. We... Hi Jenna, Thanks for posting on Trip Advisor for us. I never did hear that anyone was sick. If I had there would have been no hesitation. I remember asking the reason and the response was you all wanted to go to the beach instead. Having said that I'm glad it all worked out. We do everything possible here to... More
