Description: Called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers...
Called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers more than just your average park. Located under the grand entryway to the town, at the base of the Ravenel Bridge, this park has plenty of lawn for enjoying family picnics, a nautical-themed playground modeled after the bridge that provides shade and the boats that pass by in the harbor, and soft-serve ice cream from the River Watch Cafe. The cafe offers beautiful views of Charleston Harbor and a 1,250-foot-long pier where you can sit and swing a while. Memorial Waterfront Park is also home to the Sweetgrass Cultual Arts Pavilion, War Memorial and Visitor Center.

We found this park on our vacation this year kind of by accident because I wanted to drive over the "big bridge" and I did:) I turned into the road this park was on and was just needing a place to turn around safely and BAM here was this awesome park. There's a play area for children and a pier... More

Its a great place to walk or run and see the bridge/river. I enjoyed walking here and seeing the nice surroundings. There is also a playground for kids and a small store.

Took a stroll out on the pier with the family after dinner. This has to be one of the cleanest and most unique piers ever made. It is almost directly under the new Cooper River bridge, and has beautiful views of Charleston and the surrounding area. It was dark when we went, hopefully we can get back in the daytime!... More

We visited the Waterfront Park when we had some free time during our Charleston trip (we stayed in Mount Pleasant). All I knew about the park was that it was underneath the Ravenel Bridge... I was blown away by the lovely, modern visitor's center, beautiful landscaping, adorable bridge-shaped playground, and very nice pier ("pier" made me expect some rickety wooden... More

When you live in the low-country of SC, hot and humid summers are a fact of life. The good news is, there are many places that are worth visiting even when it's so hot all you want to do is stay inside close to an AC vent. Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park is no exception. Parking is ample and free... More

It's easy to find with lots of parking. There's an area for kids to play and lots of benches to relax in the sun and trees. There's also a visitor's center which is never crowded with lots of discounts on area attractions. On the pier people are always fishing and there's swings along the way. One of my favorite parts... This is a beautiful park with ample parking. You can see folks fishing. You can enjoy the sunset and watch the boats in the harbor. Our kids are older, but there is a very nice play area. What an incredible view!

Open until late at night. Great stop with the kids. Gorgeous views of the Charleston Harbor, USS Yorktown and the underside of the Ravenel Bridge. Gift shop open late, employees always so nice. There are plenty of gigantic southern swings on the fishing pier for just sitting back and relaxing. Also a great place for fishing! There are lots of... More
