Owner description: Called the crown jewel of Mount Pleasant, Memorial Waterfront Park offers more than just your average park. Located under the grand entryway to the town, at the base of the Ravenel Bridge, this park has plenty of lawn for enjoying family picnics, a nautical-themed playground modeled after the bridge that provides shade and the boats that pass by in the harbor, and soft-serve ice cream from the River Watch Cafe. The cafe offers beautiful views of Charleston Harbor and a 1,250-foot-long pier where you can sit and swing a while. Memorial Waterfront Park is also home to the Sweetgrass Cultual Arts Pavilion, War Memorial and Visitor Center.

I was suprised to learn that you can have an event here and that the pier is the longest in the state! I've lived here for over a year and this was the first time I had ever been here. They also have a tackle shop, playground for children, kayak area. The Cooper River Meeting Room is apparently a rare... More

We spent an hour exploring the park early on a foggy December morning. Firstly, the bridge is incredibly surreal when shrouded in heavy fog - the cables disappear into nothingness. I've got the photos to prove it! Also, able to photograph USS Yorktown shrouded in fog, from a distance, very WWII creepy effect. There were quite a few people jogging... More

Mount Pleasant memorial park is a great place to relax, play ball, take the kids, just about anything you want to do. It's free and has some great views of the famous Ravanel Bridge (you're actually almost right underneath it). Make sure to walk out to the end of the pier for sunset, absolutely breathtaking. If you have fallen in... More

First off it was very lit, we stumbled on this area trying to take pictures of the Arthur R. bridge. What a delightful discovery. The landscaping is incredible and the paths are wide and brightly lit. Directly under the bridge is a sitting area with beautiful plants, a memorial is surrounded by columns and a waterfall. People were walking their... More

Came here on new year's day, the park itself is neat and clean. Very safe to walk and relaxing. However, all the bathroom on that day were lock, th ed gift shop was closed also. I may visit the park some other time when I go back south.

Very neat and clean, run by the Parks Dept., there is a gift shop / fishing outfitter / coffee and sandwich shop. It sounds like an odd combination but with friendly staffers, it works. Plus you get an interesting underside view of the Ravenel Bridge.

This was a nice tour. They showed us the historical homes on the waterfront and where they put their cannons

This is a great stop to see so many things in one area. You can see the bridge, the fishing pier, the war memorial, and a nice walking park for the kids.

This was a great place to relax and take some really great pictures. It was walking distance to the beach. Definitely visit this place if you're here in Charleston. We hadn't made it here in our past trips, but this will become a place that we must visit when we return.
