This is a lovely, relaxing corner of nature. The highlight is the swamp. The guided boat tour was very nice, and the guide was knowledgeable about the swamp and the wildlife we saw. The flowers around the swamp were blooming and beautiful. The whole place was very peaceful, with relaxing nature trails around the swamp. The trails were level and... more

We went on a freezing cold, but sunny day in February and had the whole place to ourselves, which is my favorite way to experience a garden! As a horticulturist, I loved the gardens and trees and have much more to look forward to each time I return as the seasons progress. Our kids also loved it - open trails... more

Cypress Garden was indeed a very beautiful place to see. The swamp is so nice and very historic. It's a must to visit it when you are in South Carolina. it's worth it. more

Originally I didn't want to go here but with some prodding from my better half decided to go for it. If you are looking for slick entertainment this may not be for you. If you are looking to see a cypress swamp this is just the place. As northerners we had never been in a cypress swamp and were impressed... more

Went there 12 years ago and returned on March 13th! You get to take a flat bottom boat into the swamp and row around the black water and cypress trees by yourself (or with a guide). See alligators and turtles. There are nice trails around the swamp, as well as a butterfly house, reptile house and very small aquarium. The... more

For only $10 a person, we had a great time here. Also we had a coupon for a $1 off each person. My son is 20 months old and he enjoyed this place a lot. My niece enjoyed it, too, and she is 11. There is a butterfly house, some animals outside in a zoo setting, an aquaruim, and a... more

This is a place to go see as soon as they open. Take bug spray if you plan go go on trails or paddle in the swamp. It was one of my best experiences while we stay in Charleston for 4 days. Staff was so kind. Butterfly house a must see. Yes it may be a liitle bit of a... more

This is a great off-the beaten path location just off Highway 52 between Goose Creek and Moncks Corner, SC. A former rice plantation, history seeps from every nook and cranny on the grounds. The Butterfly House includes a portion of an active bee hive, birds and plants of all kinds. The Reptile House is a dark haven for all kinds... more

All I can say is WOW..... This palce was really neat to me. But I am an outdoors kinda person I guess. The wife is from Atlanta so the swamp isn't so fun to her. You must use one of the flat bottom boats and tour the swamp on your own. We saw alligators, big bull frogs and a fish... more

On our third trip to Charleston, we decided to check out Cypress Gardens. What a treat!! Tons of neat critters, including sirens and crocodiles! You can take a boat ride across an old cypress swamp or walk through the azaela filled gardens. My favorite was the butterfly house. You go in and beautiful birds and butterflies abound. Sit on a... more
