We took our 2 dogs to hike Jones Gap trail #1. We went on a Wednesday morning, about 10am & there was plenty of available parking. We went up to Jones Gap Falls and back, which was a little over 2 miles. This was fairly easy, with just a few spots that were a little strenuous for the amateur hiker... More

Such nice hiking trails. One is easy and some are a little more strenuous. Plenty of waterfalls and rivers along the way. At the end of one trail a beautiful tall waterfall. The perfect place to stop for a picnic. Water is plentiful if you have a portable distiller. Be sure and bring snacks. In the summer go when they... More

Liked getting a lot of exercise from hiking a 2-mile trail (each way). The scenery was beautiful. Didn't like having to wait in line for almost an hour to get into the park because they don't have very many parking spaces for visitors.

My brother and I hiked this trail today for about the fourth time. We keep coming back to this particular trail and hike because it is short and sweet. It is a great hike when you want to fit some time in with nature, but it not take up your entire day. The hike up to Pretty Place is about... More

Jones Gap is a hidden gem in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Great hiking trails lead past bold, rushing, trout streams in a lush, green setting

In mid March, my wife and I hiked to Rainbow Falls and then on to Camp Greenville and Symmes Chapel, also called “Pretty Place”. Plan to arrive early even on a weekday since the parking lot fills pretty quickly. At our arrival at around 9:00 AM on a Monday there was only one other car in the parking lot but... More

We arrived by 9:30am and there were 4 parking spots left. They filled up within 10 minutes of our arrival. The park ranger then closes the gate and waits until a car leaves to let others in. We were thankful we got there early enough. My husband and I came to hike the 5.3 mile Jones Gap trail.(one way) Once... More
