I love coming here. Trails marked well. There are a variety of options to do differing loops, whether one wants a stroll to a waterfall, or whether one wants a 10-15 miles hike. Lots of streams and water features. Only downside is VERY limited parking. If you don't get here early, there is nowhere to park (not even right outside... More

The park is an easy 40 minute drive from Greenville SC off of Hwy 11 on the North Carolina border. The hike itself is easy to moderate with parts of it being fairly rocky. You can hike all the way to Raven Falls and back in 5 or 6 hours. Also if you are looking for a relaxing 3 hours... More

This past weekend, my roommate and I were looking for a place to camp fro the night before a day of hiking on Sunday. We checked everywhere and no one had space available. We went to Jones Gap as one of our last resorts and it was wonderful! The ranger allowed us to camp on a group site because all... More

WOW!! What a wonderful slice of nature!! The drive in is amazing. You can't believe it will get better, but it does. There is a reasonable entrance fee. It is a little more in the leaf peeping season. But WOW! You will not be disappointed. This is a mostly primitive park. There are bathrooms & an interpretive type center where... More

Absolutely beautiful! This place was unlike any state park I have been to - the restroom facilities were actually nice. And clean! The floors were even shiny! I was very surprised and impressed. The hiking trails are well marked. Ran into some nice folks along the path. Love this place and definitely want to go back.

We had read different opinions on whether rainbow was good for young kids. We have twin 3 year olds and 19 month old. We decided to play it safe and go to gap falls. Very good hike for young kids. The falls aren't as nice as most but it's just long enough to be a good workout but not strenuous... More

The hike to the falls is a little strenuous & is definitely not an easy one but very worth it!!! Beautiful bridges, stairways & scenery along the way! The falls at the end are gorgeous! Take the hike!

We took our 2 dogs to hike Jones Gap trail #1. We went on a Wednesday morning, about 10am & there was plenty of available parking. We went up to Jones Gap Falls and back, which was a little over 2 miles. This was fairly easy, with just a few spots that were a little strenuous for the amateur hiker... More

Such nice hiking trails. One is easy and some are a little more strenuous. Plenty of waterfalls and rivers along the way. At the end of one trail a beautiful tall waterfall. The perfect place to stop for a picnic. Water is plentiful if you have a portable distiller. Be sure and bring snacks. In the summer go when they... More
