We were staying at the Andell Inn, which was about 2 miles from this park. While we had bikes, it was so brutally hot that we opted to drive and pay the $7 parking fee. The bad thing is that the parking lot does not open until 9:00 a.m., when the temperature had already climbed into the uber-hot range. The... More

what a great place to relax. rode our bikes from the hotel and locked them up for the day. beach chair and umbrella rentals made the day at the beach great. sand and surf ideal for all ages.

Great beach. 7 bucks to get in. Only drawback is they close at 7. Nice walkway to the beach. Clean beach. Nice water. Sand is great. Definitely going back here. Had showers and everything so we left the sand there and not in the car.

$7 entry fee during the week, open at 9 am, get there early to get a shady parking spot. A bit of a long walk on the boardwalk to actually get to the beach. A life guard stand right where the boardwalk ends. As the tide goes out there are tide pools, at least there were the two days we... More

I loves the pristine beach here, the aqua water and the sunniest blue sky that seem to linger over the Kiawah Island and Beachwalker! Waves were good enough to boogie board, yet not strong enough to worry about my 11 yo. Not super crowded, yet lifeguards always stationed. Very little beach combing per se as mainly washed up crabs, snail... More

Visited 3 different beaches on a trip to downtown Charleston. Beach walker is by FAR the best of the beaches I visited. It may take an extra 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, but all I can say is it is so worth it! Even the road leading into the Kiawah area was beautiful. The road is lined and sometimes covered... We typically rent a house for the week close to the beach and will either walk or ride our bikes to the beach to spend time there. Biking is so fun and easy and you can ride at a pretty good pace across the beach from one end to the other without having to weave through crowds of people.
