I loves the pristine beach here, the aqua water and the sunniest blue sky that seem to linger over the Kiawah Island and Beachwalker! Waves were good enough to boogie board, yet not strong enough to worry about my 11 yo. Not super crowded, yet lifeguards always stationed. Very little beach combing per se as mainly washed up crabs, snail... More

Visited 3 different beaches on a trip to downtown Charleston. Beach walker is by FAR the best of the beaches I visited. It may take an extra 10 minutes from downtown Charleston, but all I can say is it is so worth it! Even the road leading into the Kiawah area was beautiful. The road is lined and sometimes covered... We typically rent a house for the week close to the beach and will either walk or ride our bikes to the beach to spend time there. Biking is so fun and easy and you can ride at a pretty good pace across the beach from one end to the other without having to weave through crowds of people.

We were staying at the Andell Inn and drove about 5 minutes to Beachwalker. Easy beach access with nice boardwalk. However, it is a bit of a hike for anyone with limited mobility. Good restroom and snack bar facilities. Also, chair and umbrella rentals available. Lovely beach.

We'd been taking our dog to Beachwalker for 5 years now every week during the summer months. She loves the beach, and Beachwalker is where she learned to swim. We'd taken each of our many foster dogs there too over the years, because many of them never had much experience with life outside of a kennel or the city. We'd... More

We moved to Charleston several years ago and fell in love with the beach at Kiawah. We came every weekend with our dogs all season - even with thr parking headaches during peak months. When we choce to buy a home here, we chose a neighborhood close to Kiawah just for this reason. We found recently that the ordinances have... More

We're residents. We used to bring our dogs to the beach here in order to play off-leash with other dogs in the dog designated area. As of this season, the beach is off limits to dogs except on leashes, which as we all know, means no fun for the dogs. So we're done with Kiaweh. It is a lovely beach... More

This is a great public beach and, perhaps because it was spring break and not summer, we had tons of parking. We rode our rental bikes up to this entrance one day too so it was quite convenient to access all of Kiawah's beaches. Sit up higher and away from the ocean for softer sand - remember, people ride bikes... More
