Kiawah island is the US best kept secret. It's secluded and top notch. It's never crowded (great) and quiet. Staying at the Sanctuary is the way to go. You want a vacation? The Sanctuary will make you feel relaxed.

Very approachable and well laid out community. If you stay outside of the community but want to explore, get a pass at the gate and ask to have a cocktail or lunch at the club house. The guards are very friendly. Truly a golf community on the beach.

This place is a paradise. From the beach to the nature to the golf to the food, you will not be bored for one second. Don't let some other reviewers turn you away; almost all areas of this island are accessible to people who are staying there. Don't miss a trip to the Ocean Course at the opposite end of... More

Kiawah Island is a truly remarkable get away with something for everyone. I don't play golf or tennis but the facilities and courses are world class. From nature camps for the kids to paddle boarding and bike riding there is always something fun to do. The beaches are huge and wide, the water has some waves but it is mild... More

After living in Kiawah for over 20 years I can still say it's the best place to visit and live. I have traveled all over the US and can't find a nicer place. It's safe...close to Charleston...has great restaurants...many 1st rate golf courses...bike trails...fantastic flat beach to ride your bike on... (10 miles long) The hotel is 5 stars (Sanctuary)..plus... More
