Kiawah is a forested island with extensive biking and walking trails. It has a conveniently located shopping area and beautiful beaches. Great for families and golfers, but you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy your stay. There are nature programs and wildlife viewing areas, and of course, look out for the alligators.

A more attractive island can not be found. A myriad of excellent accommodations, with excellent golf opportunities both on and off the island. The dining opportunities are diverse, in terms of fare, atmosphere and price.

We stayed at a friends house here for a week in October. The island was very nice. The bike paths were great for riding and jogging. The beach was amazing and there were very few people on the beach. Everyone was very nice to is even though we were guests. It is such a beautiful place. The only thing is... More

Kiawah is really beautiful and truly restful. We stayed in a lovely house with grand views of the marsh and wonderful old live oaks literally dripping with moss. KI is pretty expensive, so be prepared to pay around $15 or more for a sandwich, more for meals. Freshfields Village is located just before the entrance and contains quite a number... More

This was my first trip to the island... and it was amazing! It is peaceful and the beaches are amazing! There weren't a lot of people... which was good. It was also very clean, which I love! It is also fun to ride bikes all around the island. Can't wait to go back!

Kiawah Island is so relaxing. The beaches are wide during low tide and you can ride your bike on them too. It is a surreal experience to glide along watching boats, dolphins, people taking walks, resting on lounge chairs. No one is in a hurry!! A special treat. My sister lives on the Island so I have had ample years... More

we love the bike trails. we love the quiet. we love the beach area. we saved a lot of money in bringing our own food. and we brought our own bikes. ocean front is expensive, but b/c of the afore mentioned savings, we spent more for ocean front. and on this trip the weather was supreme... PERFECT.

They restrict access to the island but the Andell Inn told us to just tell the guard you are visiting the Ryder Cup bar and you will have access to the whole island. They charge for the public beach but if you go to West Beach and park in the parking lot, there is free access to the beach. Beautiful... More

Can't say much more than I love Kiawah. My family has a house on the island and I have been going to Kiawah since 1990. I now bring my wife and children down to enjoy my second child hood home.
