Kiawah Island is so relaxing. The beaches are wide during low tide and you can ride your bike on them too. It is a surreal experience to glide along watching boats, dolphins, people taking walks, resting on lounge chairs. No one is in a hurry!! A special treat. My sister lives on the Island so I have had ample years... More

we love the bike trails. we love the quiet. we love the beach area. we saved a lot of money in bringing our own food. and we brought our own bikes. ocean front is expensive, but b/c of the afore mentioned savings, we spent more for ocean front. and on this trip the weather was supreme... PERFECT.

They restrict access to the island but the Andell Inn told us to just tell the guard you are visiting the Ryder Cup bar and you will have access to the whole island. They charge for the public beach but if you go to West Beach and park in the parking lot, there is free access to the beach. Beautiful... More

Can't say much more than I love Kiawah. My family has a house on the island and I have been going to Kiawah since 1990. I now bring my wife and children down to enjoy my second child hood home.

Kiawah is a great experience as friendly, first class service combines with beautiful views of the ocean & South Carolina low country. The rental villas are very nice with excellent accomodations & great restaurant choices available at the Sanctuary Hotel & golf course club houses{3}. The Ocean Course is the most challenging course in the US . The views are... More

Come early as the local park has limited parking with around 100 parking spots only. Got there at 9:00 AM and had to wait 45 minutes to get into the park. Worth the weight with a foot shower, toilets, small snack bar, life guard, and umbrella rentals. No leash required for dogs so the can enjoy the surf and chase... More

Kiawah is a beautiful island that is quieter than most of its neighbors. There are only 17 restaurants compared to the 300+ on Hilton Head. There is less shopping also. If you want a quieter place with a great beach and beautiful low country scenery this is the place. It is located about 45 minutes from downtown Charleston. There are... More

Kiawah is South Carolina at it's best. Beautiful beaches, lots of bike trails, wonderful seafood in a laid back not too crowded way. We went for only 3 days and I would love to have a week to spend just walking the beach and riding bikes and relaxing.
