it is a nice island but not many options for eating out and will require always driving somewhere. we didn't book with the kiawah island resort and as such were not able to use the pool or receive the discounts on golfing. I don't plan to return to this island.

Except for Maui, Kiawah Island features the best beach in the U.S. The beaches are pristine and large and the water is warm and clean with wave action to entertain body boarders and surfers. And whether you bring your own or rent, riding your bicycle on the hard packed sand on the beach is one of the most interesting and... More

Nice Beach I wouldn't rate it top 10 in the country though. The water was warm that was great. The only drawback was that @ least 50% of the people had dogs w/ them. The dogs were well behaved & I saw no feces on the beach but it made me uneasy. Problems like this were caused by horses on... More

The island is beautiful. We have traveled a lot and Kiawah is still our favorite place although it is not as good as it used to be. It costs considerably more to rent your accomodation from Kiawah than from an owner or one of the other companies. Kiawah has started charging a 9% resort fee. The only extras I use... More

Wonderful, 10 mile stretch of public beach. You have to pay $7 to park, which keeps the beach pretty quiet considering the surrounding beaches. There are restrooms and a wash area near the entrance of the beach. The beach is sectioned off into a life guard area, a no leash dog area (all day) and other sections. We went down... More

We were here for a family vacation staying in a fabulous rental home. The people are very nice the amenities are plentiful. The views are spectacular. There is something for everyone however it is not a bargain.

After a fabulous breakfast buffet at Jasmine Porch, we took the beach path out to the ocean and decided to stay awhile. For about 40.00, we were able to rent two loung chairs, an umbrella, and two towels. The beach was beautiful: warm with gentle waves, and clean (but not clear). No lifeguards, so you are on your own. We... More

As others have mentioned in these reviews, at first you are overwhelmed by the opulence of everything with the emphasis on comfort and extravagance but this does begin to pall after a while. We were there for the golf and the golf courses are amazing - the best I have ever played. Otherwise we would not have been there. The... More

Went here to collect shells and brought back bags and bags of them. The owner of this place at the end of Botany Bay Road was a really nice guy. He takes you out to an island, drops you off for 2 hours, then comes back to get you and your bounty of shells! We were the only people on... More

This being the 3rd time we visited Kiawah island we have gone to love this place. From the perfect beach to being in a nature preserve this place has it all for us. The island offers the possibility to bike the virtually endless beach or the myriad of bike trails. We added fishing and crabbing in the marsh to our... More
